He took down a scar vet my friend designed to kill him tday and won... eeventually... weith 1 wound left lol

just the tough ups on the metal and washing the metal for the shields, and attaching them and the first 8 knights are done

So today has been productive across the board, the knights now just needing the horses mouth areas doing and all flesh washing and as a finishing touch the shields 'ard coating.

So work started on the captain/general tonight; would of been a lot further along if i hadnt had a siesta of 6 hours when i got home from work today. Any cncs on aanything in this blog welcome

Looking forward to seeing the captain done. I wish that there was more of a selection of captains and unnamed heroes. I like the Kurt helborg model but for $50 not so much lol

With the re releasing of some of the brettonia models could always cycle a few of those guys in here and there!

the biggest bug for empire with me... we can mount our wizards on horses pegasus and griffins... and we have no horse miounted available... oh and wheres the boobs... i mean witches... i mean well yh witches or female wizards

Ya I would just use a captain as a wizard in that case. You can also use one of the brettonia pegasus knights as a hero or wizard on a pegasus they are a lot better than the empire ones (uuugly)

Plus balthasar (the only pegasus guy in empire) is twice as much as a pegasus know so you know save the $$

Your captain is looking great. I always think that I don't want an empire army but then I see one all painted up and I'm like "Man!"

finally nearly finished the horse and got the captain primed ready to a lick of paint.

To finish the horse I just got to dry bry the base, all the loose hair strands paint the skele on the head and the laurel will post some pics shortly when finished

on another note has anyone noticed that the gdub a'ard coat enhances the colour it is applied to ?

Ya that 'ardcoat does make the colours pop a bit more. I only ever use it on lenses and gems tho. What are you applying it to?

So heres tonight's progress on the captain, not happy with the skeleton on the horse... but if i try to change it again, i will lose all details, andhave all but the face and gloves on base coat on the captain himself. cnc's welcome

So today has been very productive, having finished the woods i was working on, I have also stripped the riers for the knights and filled the gaps on the demigryphs.

Also on the demigryphs I have modeled out of green stuff, some rocks and a log

wow so my order was dispatched monday afternoon... got home from work this morning and it has all arrived, 100 3x2mm magnets 2 10 man infantry trays 1 20 man infantry tray 3 5 cavalry trays and 1 15 man cavalry tray.

-.- painters block... trying to do something but just cant get on any tips?

so i finally managed to lift the painters block tonight and managed to get quite a lot done on the demigryphs

so had a mini break from the demi's by assembling most of the terrain yesterday ready for a non practice game this afternoon of 2400, unfortunately i lost... damn those doomdivers n pumpwagons are rediculous for there points
So i got around to stripping 8/16 knights today. And barring 1 or 2 spots here and there they have come out fine.
As you can see the previous paint job by another owner sucked so hard it had to go.
So 6 hours later in neat detol and all that is left is some remnants of the undercoat tmhere and there. With lots of the lost detail back.

The demigryphs look great!

I have a bunch of orcs and goblins that I need to strip. Unfortunately I was responsible for the horrible paint job on these guys...

if you can get it I can not recommend detol (non citrus) enough, though gloves would need to be worn as it cleans ya handsa so well they flake skin for days... alas i am allergic to both latex and vinyl so wouldnt wear any -.-

What colours did you use for your demigryphs legs?
I picked up a few things for empire (couple boxes of archers, some crossbowmen, pistoleers and some demigryphs) and have been slacking in painting I haven't touched anything lately so I wanna try to do those demis cause I love the models.

Maybe I'll eventually finish my 2.5k skaven list too I just needed a change to get back into the painting groove I think.

Have you got anymore done of those demigrpyh knights tho?
If your using end times rules then just bring Karl Franz ascended...he's basically a badass haha

thats the point chief i refuse to play end times scenario rules tis the reason i bailed out of the tournament cus its f*(^&ing b(*&&^%s. The Khaine book clearly states ET is scenarios not main rules update and i play whfb or triumph and treachery. People don't tend to like it when i say fine ET rules apply the so do TnT.

The fact that not all armies have even had an endtimes update just means its bs to allow it in a tournament, and as for the 50% lords and 50% heroes i remember what a fail herohammer was and we are back there againty but no.

I will ost the colors later i dont have them to hand and im about to start my shift

Ya I agree about it being unfair when not all the armies are represented so they don't all get awesome new stuff. It definitely is a scenario thing so should only be in place during some games.

I love the triumph and treachery rules! I've had tons of fun with that with my friends when that came out! Although we tweaked the cards thing a bit.

The 50% lords and heroes isn't bad tho because A it doesn't effect my choices as a skaven player all that much and B I think its actually detrimental to take 50% lords or heroes lol

Anyways I started painting up my demigryphs and went with Karak Stone with a wash of Sepia I think? Went with an unconventional feather pattern for the main using dark grey, medium grey, light grey and then white. Looks kinda like a snowy feather pattern not sure if I'm a fan maybe the white was too much idk lol
