FW does a really great job of making army lists interesting to play with and against and in standing out from other army lists.

Can anyone who also has the book tell me where the rules for Mine Plows and Co-Axel weapons are?

Imperial Armour 1 second edition has all of those rules.

So they're not in the IA13 book?

Co-axial weapon is on p195, footnote 10. Mine plows may not be in there, I have seen people say there are a few things not listed in the book (magna-melta I think is one.....though I wasn't sure if they just forgot to rename it Melta Cannon...?).

Anything new for the Avenger? Is it even included?

No chaos avenger. They get Thunderhawks, Storm Eagles, Storm Raptors, Hellblades/talons, and blight drones. Renegades can get Arvis lighters and Valkyries.

The hellblades are pretty nice little interceptors, getting upgraded with 6 rending, twinlinked autocannon shots that reroll pens/wounds against a specific flyer or FMC. They can also do cool little barrelroll manouvers that let them strafe around before they move proper.

I *really* like the strafe - they can "hop" in a direction a random number of inches, without changing facing. Makes it much more interesting to dogfight with them.

Their autocannon upgrades are a must have i think, given the relatively cheap price. Very interesting addition!

I have a question about the rending ammo upgrade for heavy bolters and autocannons.

Does the upgrade work on reaper autocannons? If so how expensive is it? It seems like it would be a great addition to a fireraptor.

Giving a sicaran more rending shots seems like a pretty good idea too. But I have heard it is expensive.

I didn't see it abvavilable to all units to be fair, so not sure sicarians can even get it.

Sicarans can get it, pretty much anything with HB can, for usually a huge number of points - for sicaran i think its around 35 - 40 points. What it does do is give you a reason to take HB sponsons - more dakka but with rending vs less dakka, high S low AP

The 'hellstorm autocannon' upgrade the hellblade has ups the shots from 2 to 3 and gives rending. This is different than the Malefic ammunition rule some vehicles have which gives just rending and is super duper expensive. The hellblade gets the upgraded autocannon for pretty cheap. You want rending on a predators sponson HBs? forget about it

To further clarify. The sicarans main weapon comes with rending already but it can purchase malefic ammo for its HBs. The fire raptor can purchase malefic ammo for its reaper ACs or its HBs but at a significant cost (18 to 25% the base cost of the vehicle)

Rending autocannon batteries on a fireraptor is 35pts. Pricey, but 250ish points is a decent cost for what it can bring to the table. 50pts for the bolters pretty much evens out with the 10pt upgrade from bolters to autocannons.
