Did you notice that multiple monkeys can screw you over?
If you got 4 monkeys, than you get "the works" on a 3+, but than every additional 3+ is useless.

I read your post, then read the inconceivable rule again, then your post again, then began to cry. You're right. I've been playing it wrong. I haven't been applying the "+1 per" for the two rolls based on the works, and the "ignore" doesn't mean "reroll". The sad part is the old GK faq clarifies this, and then they post the same borked text in the Inq codex. Having never played the old GK, I never saw the old GK faq. So basically, if you have 6 monkeys, you get no customizations, and if you have more than 2 monkeys, you can never get the increased range :(. This makes me a...well...sad monkey.
This stinks...now I actually have to decide between a massive blob of big gun monkeys, or balance...of a blob of other big guns like three plasma cannon servitors, a couple acolytes with plasma guns, and couple big gun monkey who can improve all my other big gun blob. I just want cake and eat it too...not surprisingly

I personally find that two monkeys and 10 bolter acolytes is the best combination.

Just because it's in the name of the ability doesn't mean I noticed it. I thought it was pass Pinning tests and Regroup automatically.

What are you using for bolter acolytes?

As in models?
I technically don't, as I don't own inqusition and just proxied them a few times (and fought them)
But when it comes to modeling, getting a few IG dudes, and picking up spare bolters from local SM players (they are bound to have tons of them) seems to do the trick.

Mephistons transfixing gaze. I literally have to write transfixing gaze on the back of my hand to remember to use it. I didn't for a long while after I got back into the game...

That Tau can help each other overwatch and use marker lights when they do it. And that interceptor thing. The first time I played Tau I was not prepared! "I'm outflanking you," "your dead". "I'm charging you," "your dead".

This is one of those rules I've always ignored. If there's a wall with no door/large window/traversable gaps, you go around it, not through it like it's not there.
The 5th edition Rulebook had a sentence under moving through difficult terrain that they never included in 6th or 7th.
" This represents the warriors bashing their way past locked doors and windows, using explosives or their weapons to create breaches in light walls, climbing over low obstacles and so on." Page 14

That laser been could paint you with a radiation marker that tau scanner can pick up. Duck behind your bush, your still glowing on other parts of the spectrum lol

Yep, everyone saying "markerlights should have cover saves because realisem" have no clue how real-world target marking works x_x
I mean, we got real weapons that can be pinpointed to hit a spesific window of a car without even having a line of sight to it. we can hit rocket mid-air, guilding systems are not THAT high-tech sci-fi, its just that most races in the 40kverse are slowed tech-wise.

Here's one that annoys me:- that no single human in a galaxy full of humans has thought about cutting the roof of a transport vehicle off to allow people to get to grips with the opponents more quickly (open topped). Out of the trillions of humans that have been alive in the space of 10000 years, has nobody looked at a basilisk or griffon and thought 'hmmmm if we take that gun out, put people in there and drive right at the enemy, we could literally just jump over the side to get at them... I'm sure I've never seen that in the galaxy before, to help give me this brain wave...'

I agree, there should be a height restriction over which a model can't just scramble over. a 12 foot wall shouldn't be scaleable, used to be you'd have to move each man to an opening and proceed through there. Perhaps one and a half times the height of a model should be the climbing limit. Ability to scale walls like that should be exclusive to assisins, scouts, infiltrators, genestealers or anyone equipped with a grapple
It''s an example, of where in an attempt to speed up playing the game, realism has been abandoned. I won't go into the numeous other examples, I spend enough of my life grumbling about them

Why would you even want to go in melee with the enemy? Flatten them with the Earthshakers and move on.
