Two new Stretch Goals!!!

Before showing you the sculpt of Gugh´Jin, the troll cleaner, here are our 2 new Stretch Goals.

Big Child is in representation this weekend

Hello everyone

For today, and before speaking about the campaign again, let me show you some of our work and whereabout. This weekend, Big Child is in Antibes for the FIMAJE, a painting competition in France. We are here to show our work to the public and paint in front of everyone. We were here with also Ben Komets from Painting Buddah and we enjoyed working all together

It was a pleasure to be there and share with everyone. People can discover the first painted Black Sailors models and we are delighted by their success. We hope to move to other competitions !

Base kits


Hello everyone,

Now that we are back from the Fimaje, here is a little explanation about the basing kits.

At the moment, we propose you 2 different kits, one for sand ambiance or for deck ambiance.

You can get them as add on at the end of the campaign for 15$ each ! And they don't add weight so don't worry for the shipping costs.

Tumarukh the cartographer its here!!!

New stretch goal unlocked ! Thanks to you again my friends ! Now the Skulls Crusher board Tumarukh the cartographer. He is the only one who can decipher maps and find locations. Scenery Resin Kits WIP

Good night everyone! Here are a few pictures of the creation process for scenery kits for Black Sailors. As you can see, both kits, the timber and the beach, come in different sizes for both the crew and the kitchen, with its scenic base. Basing kits informations

REDGHAR!!!!!! and a little bit about the future...

And here, at last, we reveal the full concept art of Redghar! When Black Sailors reached the Red Sands to find Grommarg, Redghar, the black orc, a brutal warrior from distant lands, approached the Kaptain and offered to join the crew ... well, actually he didn`t let the Kaptainsay "NO". With this addition, only Grommarg lies waiting Grommarg is about to jump into the arena to do what he does best, smash things. When he's finished, the crew will be complete and ready to start the TRUE JOURNEY...

BIG BOMBA Concept art extended!


When Pedro Nuñez joined the team of Big Child Creatives, we were all excited! Many of us were fans of his previous work, as Castlevania or Warhammer, and have an artist of his talent in our team was and is an privilege. From the beginning of the project, Pedro had the idea of creating a giant, brutal and menacing creature, and so it was born Grommarg, The Beast of the Red Sands, aka Big Bomba. With such a great job in concept art, the perfect partner for the project was the master Raul Garcia Latorre, who is preparing his particular vision of this great character. Soon we will bring you photos of sculpture!

Big Bomba Price Update


Some will of noticed the price adjustment for the Big Bomba. This was a result of an error on our part (Minx) while interpreting the document when we did the foreign exchange in preparation for this project.

BigChild has informed us that the retail price of this miniature will be around $140CAD (100eu). However, rather than punish those who came later, and as a thanks to everyone who have made this campaign successful....

Senechal Khong


"Legends run among the pirates of the Storm Coast, legends talking about a monkey so clever he had his own ship ! Ok pirates can sometimes exaggerate, only because they may have a drinking problem. But the Senechal does exist and he is bloody smart. A long time ago, he used to be in a circus, juggling with knives and stuff. But his master was a violent one, beating him so bad that one day the Senechal found a gun and used it on that butcher. And the legend began. Running away for his life the monkey hoped on the Skulls Crusher by pure luck. The Kaptain was about to kick him out when the members of the circus arrived to capture him again. Bad idea. First, nobody gets on the ship without the Kaptain's consentment and second, nobody drows a gun in front of the boys, without being ready for mayhem. And furthermore the Senechal jumped in the middle of the men of the circus and started firing like crazy, killing more men than the rest of the crew. The ship won his second monkey this day and the Storm Coast lost a circus..."

Whoa! Guys, seriously, you are amazing. Kaptain Gorak is really impressed with the progress of the journey and, having to admit, a bit overwhelmed. In Big Child Creatives we are working hard to prepare an update to the height of this great end of season, which will reveal the accessories of Redghar, the art of Skulls Krusher´s kit, the new scenic kit and a couple of surprises. Good evening friends. We are working on all new Stretch Goals to make them attractive both in content and price. As we prepare the update of Skulls Krusher´s kit, where not only the art will reveal, but it will explain all the details, here we bring you the images of two SG already unlocked: Redghar accessories and King Goblin. As with previous members of the collection, Redghar accessories, an axe and a shoulder plate to represent his past as Gladiator in the Red Sands, will be given away to all backers who acquire it to him. Moreover, the Goblin King, our SG 50k, will be a gift for ALL backers with the pledge "Aye Matei!" ($ 55 CAD) or higher, in commemoration of having surpassed the incredible amount of $ 50,000 CAD. Skulls Krusher Revealed!!!!!

Here is, the frist Skulls Krusher kit. This piece will be a resin kit, with many pieces and details to build a large scenic base for the Black Sailors. Until in process, this is the concept art for it. The Skulls Krusher it´s a really big element of scenery that can be combined with "Swab me Decks" kit. The final size and proportions may vary to adapt them to the scale properly. Can be purchased as AddOn for 55$CAD



Also, another stretch goal unlocked, the extra scenety kit reached at 47k, it´s finaly reveal too. As we show, it has been specially designed to fit perfectly with the Skulls Krusher kit, but can be used without it. This kit have a banister, a cannon and some datails extra. Can be purchased as AddOn for 20$CAD

With all the crew assembled and the ship repaired, the journey and adventures of Black Sailors can start! Here is the new Stretch Goals ladder, with new and exciting treasures for loot. First, a SG of 53k, already unloked, this will be a raffle of a pro painted miniature of Guruk, the first mate, painted by Borja García (The Figure Corner), between all bakers who want to participate with a pledge level "Three in a row" or superior, or a pledge combined with AddOns with the same price.

Then, a lot of new stuff comes over the horizon, as new accessories for Grommarg, Khong can become free, a Papa Jambo bust and, most exciting, a couple of Black Sailors rivals. The evil goblin pirate "Bocanegra", and the special participation of Kaptain Albrekht, the fourfold damned!!! A special "orc" edition in 54mm scale of "Captain Albrecht, the thrice damned" from Coolminiornot´s game Rum&Bones

Don't quote me on that but I actually think that Big Child creative has been doing the development of Rum and bones for the past two years. But I am not sure what they did and how much control they had as there is no reference to BigChild Creatives in the rum and bones KS.

Free monkey clarification


Dear mates,

Concerning the free monkey with the pledge levels "Big Boyz" and "We be sailing" :

- it's only the King Khung miniature coming along, you can't change it

- everyone backing more than 195$CAD at the end of the campaign (whatever the pledge level but considering the overall amount) will also get a free King Khung miniature

And also here are some pictures of the one painted by David "Karaikal" Rodriguez, who will be probably the subject of another raffle...

The owners of CMON used to own New Wave Miniatures, who let a lot of customers down.

I don't like their KS business model.
All of those "not" figures they sell as part of their Kickstarters (all of the Big Bang Theory figures in the Zombicide KS, the Kiss figures in the Rum & Bones KS, all of the movie characters, etc.), to me it seems lazy and uninspired, as if the only important factor is the profit margin.

When I see that CMON has some involvement in a project I always feel that it is in some way damaging to the artistic integrity of the project.

But perhaps that's just me being naive.

Also, I still blame them at least partially for the mess that was Sedition Wars.

Here is, the terrible Captain Albrecht, the trice damned, from Rum&Bones from Coolminiornot, come to the Black Sailors world to face the Crew. Trapped in a ork body, but with his spirit intact, Albrecht have another curse and decided change his name for AlbreKht, that souds more... orkish... now, he prepares to take revenge from Papa Jambo, a story that we will tell you soon...

A success of all, and the near future...

First of all, thank you. Thank you again, This is a incredible success for all of us. From Big Child, we want to celebrate this with all the people involved in this campaign.

Minx/LOTC was more than a help, and this dudes totally rocks the house for us. Thank you firends for your support, help and advices.

All backers... woa, thank you a lot for your confidence, your help and your comments. We are REALLY glad to have a campaign with a great comunitty like you are.

And now, take a look to the future. Our sculptors can start to make real all accessories, sculpt Albrekht and the Skulls Krusher. The Production department can start to produce all the miniatures. But what happens with the artistic deppartment? We never stop, and with the support received, today more than ever!!! We are working in a project linked directly with Black Sailors. A project with the universe of Black Sailos expanded, full of lore, characters and surprises. A project more bigger than Black Sailors... but smaller



Many of you have asked us about miniatures of 30mm, and was a nightmare keep quiet during this time because we have long been working on this project!!!!

Payment Process and What next? Missed it? Joining with Paypal?

Here is how it works...

-Kickstarter will take 2 weeks or so to process everyone's payments and transfer the funds to our account

-BigChild will be working on production and sculpting for those 2 weeks and an additional 2 weeks. Kickstarter is a lot of work, so rest away from it is very helpful. We will still be here to answer questions however!

-After about a month or so, we will update you on KS and send out the invitations to Backerkit, our pledge manager system.

-In Backerkit, you can select the miniatures you want, add-on new ones, and make payments (including shipping)

-Backerkit will remain open for 1-2 months so you may adjust your selections or add on new ones.

-Once closed, only your address can be adjusted. This is done to collect final numbers for manufacturing.

-After it has been closed, we will continue to update you via Kickstarter, and let you know when shipping will be prepared.

-Once we are ready to begin shipping, we will remind everyone to check their addresses to ensure they are correct, and ensure everyone has paid and solve any remaining issues.

-Then shipping begins and you get your shiny new toys!!

If you are hoping to join through Paypal or missed the campaign we need you to do a few things...

-Send us an email at KS@LegionoftheCow.com

-Title the email: LET ME IN!

-In the email, supply your name, country and desired pledge level.

-Once we launch backerkit, we will manually add you and send an invite via email.

-You will then be able to select the miniatures you'd like, add-on anything extra, add shipping, and make payments via Stripe (a credit card processing site)

-If you are using Paypal, after your selections, contact us again at the same email address with the title: PAYPAL INVOICE

-We will then send a Paypal invoice to your email address where you can pay the amount required.

Errored Payments "Fix Payments" link


KICKSTARTERS PROCESS:

-We(KS) will send backers with errored pledges an email every 48 hours with a link to fix the issue.

-Backers may also log in to the Kickstarter account from which they pledged to follow the 'Fix Payment' link.

-Backers have 7 days to fix their pledges by updating their credit card information.
