Once Necron dex drops I think there will be a greater focus on supplements and campaigns. Doubt the dex recycling will happen for a while, imho.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

40k is the cash cow for GW.
Supplements and additional models will not bring enough money in a long run.
So either they start the 40k cycle again or they dedicate more effort on Fantasy.

Hopefully they'll focus on fantasy for awhile. I don't want to see a new eldar or SM codex and 8th edition rushed out the door.

A new edition would drive people away from 40k.
Fantasy is in desperate need of on update.

I heard from a source who has been reliable in the past, but I always take with a grain of salt because I don't know who *their* source is -- that WHFB is getting a system similar to 40k. Again, totally unconfirmed. I'm passing it on as pure speculation and rumor, but this fella was right about the factions of Stormclaw/Deathstorm quite a bit before I read it anywhere else in the rumor mill.

Even so, with many WHFB releases no doubt down the line, they aren't going to ignore 40k. It's just too good a cash cow. And with LoTR/Hobbit wrapped up, they're not going to become a one trick pony. I imagine 40k will at least get new models/units, in the same way Tyranids got new stuff. You know, gotta escalate somehow! lol.

Plus, I see wayyyy more 40k games than WHFB. Dunno how it is in other cities, but the stores here generally have a lot more 40k stock on the shelf than WHFB, not to mention games being played.

Edit: maybe they will keep 40k fresh by releasing all small units at new, 2015 prices that reflect the much higher costs to produce the bigger (32mm) infantry bases! (j/k)

I've heard that in North America, 40k is by far the more popular system. In Europe it's closer to 50/50.

So would most people agree it would be nice if gw just left the core game alone for a year or so. Give gamers some stability amd time to enjoy the game rather than having to keep adjusting every time a new codex is released.

Then spend the time to do the odd whire dwdwarf releases like they just did with nids. Expansion or campaign books to supplement the core game. Knowing gw thought they will probably start the recycle all over again
