Just pushed the button. 102 UKP/$140 well spent.

More lead for the closet of shame.

But I'd say there's at least a 50/50 shot I'll paint the trench coat gang within a year.

This! In my opinion, which I have shared with Andy in the past, the best looking goblins out there!

Andy just posted an update on his kickstarter in which he mentions a new project, but no info as to for what. I hope he expands his ganger range.

Bit of a necro here but thought people might be interested. It seems that Andy has very nearly (by the end of the year) finished off his kickstarter and he has been slowly adding stuff to the shop as they get completed, for example;

And amongst the last of the things completed to finish off the kickstarter is this awesome daemon, hopefully it wont be too long before it becomes available at retail. because wow.

Andy from Heresy has announced that he is going to run a kickstarter for the famous Heresy Dragon (pics below). It will be running from the 23rd of this month through to the first week of November. As the model has previously been in production there should be little to no issues with production (hopefully), the model is resin and weighs in at 1.76lb (800g). There has been no news on price yet but I will update the thread when the kickstarter goes live.

The original preorder dragons were all shipped last year I think he said and he is just about to complete the dungeon monster Kickstarter from '14. It did take a hell of a long time to complete the dragons but he is confident that he can knock the next load out pretty quick as the master is in good knick and he has lots of practice making the model.

Given he swore he'd never do it again, I can only imagine his cashflow situation is desperate (again).

Yeah, having read his posts about basically having a mental breakdown due to how incredibly frustrating the dragon was to produce... I have no idea how he's going to pull that off. He also seems to be eternally teetering on the edge of going out of business judging from what I've seen of his FB feed in the last couple of years. Honestly I think his product range is a bit too eclectic to support an entire business. He can't produce enough sculpts to compete with the likes of Reaper and he doesn't have the cult following that for example Kev White of Hasslefree has. He should focus on a few strong themes that people are clamoring for and fully develop them as he did with the not-Delaque which are brilliant. Random poo monsters are cool but yeah.

I love those dungeon monsters, but having put a deposit in in the original dragon queue (which Andy thankfully let me apply to other items in his store) and followed that wait, I knew they'd take a loooong time to deliver. I didn't realize it was from 2014, though!

Imo, he should push those monsters instead, that Netherlord Mk2 is insane! But maybe it's big enough that doing those has given him confidence to tackle the dragon again?

If you back, you should do so planning for years delay. Still might be worth it for some folks to obtain such a piece, but it's not for me...

With him teetering on the ledge of bankruptcy so often, it is a bit of a gamble to purchase such an expensive model knowing the delay time until production could be so long, for all anyone knows he could go under before they ever got their models. I feel like playing the sympathy card for boosted sales in the short term is a terrible long term strategy.

I wish him the best, he definitely has some awesome stuff, but his range is all over the map. With Necromunda making a resurgence he should maybe focus on more gangs. Hired guns and things like scavies would p;robably sell like hot cakes.

Just to clarify here, the dragon model has been mastered and he has some production moulds of it already with some what over three hundred of the models having been produced previously and he is casting it himself.

The kickstarter he is about to run is all about trying to improve his cashflow. It should be a simple case of just casting up a batch of new models and replacing moulds as needed when they deteriorate beyond usefulness. As such their should not be too much delay in production and shipping (yeah, right... but it wont be the seven years from previously!).

Edit; Edited to note that over three hundred dragons were produced.

In all fairness, I believe half the problem last time was that the molds turned out to be far more complex than he was expecting, and then he ended up needing to resculpt half the dragon to make it work. Then it turned out that the molds deteriorated far faster than he thought due to the detail, which upped per model expenses vastly.

Theoretically at least; none of that should happen now. He's cast a crapton of these things and knows the model inside out. Not only that, he went out of his way to make sure everyone got what they bought; even if it took ages because he ran out of money (he charged about £200 per dragon and it ended up costing half again that or somesuch in production).

So I wouldn't be too worried about getting it in reasonable order. I just feel a little sad because I know this model almost broke him, and he'd only be doing it if cash was really tight and he had no other way.

I think by the end he'd figured it out. He also was able to sell through a lot of miscasts which probably softened the blow in terms of his per unit cost quotes.

Not sure if it would be suitable, but Heresy just provided some masters of deathball models to Impact miniatures for a trollcast kickstarter. I wonder if there's any hope that this monstrosity could be done in trollcast without significant quality control issues.

Wasn't that what caused the first massive delay in the first place?

i remember a post of his at CMON where someone said how can CMON do so well with their massive crazy detailed dragon, etc. and he said well CMON probably gets it cast in china for super cheap. the CMON ceo then replied, they actually use a caster in USA (for their large resin stuff).

Its too bad andy couldnt find a better place to cast that dragon the first time around, but i guess overhead for that may have been too much for him as an initial cost.

it is a nice dragon. not in the top 3 available IMHO, but certainly top 10.

if he could get that done in plastic, that would rock
