It might not be that hard for gargantuans.

Skorne: as mentioned, different weapons on a mammoth.
Circle: already different types of wolds, so could easily be a different type.
Legion: they make warbeasts on demand. A subtype of archangel could be made.
Trolls: this one is tough, since mountain kings are actually unique. They could go mammoth style and just strap guns on its arms.

A Mountain King that throws rocks etc to give it a much better ranged game? Tbh I think Trolls players should be the most excited for these changes because basically anything they do to it will be an improvement.

The Cygnar one worries me only because it is an arc node, and if it can channel while engaged then Haley just got another big buff.

The Khador one seems pretty awesome - definitely going to have some game with Harkevich.

The Ret one is probably the most interesting (not just because I play Ret) - the fact that it has no ranged damage options is weird but opens up a huge range of other options to keep it balanced - SPD6?, the most powerful melee Colossal?, incredible support options? or just something in the 16-17pt range? Will also be interesting to see if the tractor beam is ROF1, because if you can fire that multiple times then its a quasi drag which can move things around walls.

I think people are overstating Victors abilities. We have only a rough idea of what thr colossals do and very few soecifics. If Victor received everything that people have assumed he will have based on thr information available without some pretty significant drawbacks then it will have rendered conquest obsolete. In short the dream of rng 20 pow 16 5"aoe zeems unlikely, even with inaccurate at an effective RAT 0.

Even if its RNG16 POW15 its still going to be pretty good. I'm assuming it isn't going to be as punchy as a Conquest if its more focused on shooting, so you can't drop the gun too much otherwise it is too similar to the Conquest's main gun. The 5" AOE is confirmed already, as is the Continueous Fire shot type which imo are the two best features.

Victor is a siege mortar. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a min range on the main gun.

There is a word for a wargamer with an empty paint bench.

At worst its going to be one less pow on its fists. I certainly don't see it being pow 0 or 1.

Lets face it Conquest was pretty obsolete already, a min range would make sense though.

Edit: A profile generally simillar to the existing mortar would make sense.

Yeah, and really a min range of 8 wouldn't really matter if you can lob shots starting turn 1.

Nobody ever said that the continuous fire shot would also be a 5" aoe however. Good probability that it is, but it wouldnt be the first time there was a variable AOE effect in play.

Examples? There aren't that many models which have different shot types in general and I can't think of any which have different sized AoEs for different shot types off the top of my head.

CoC Cypher has several shot types.

But they all have the same aoe size.

Yeah, I think there's only 1 model with a variable aoe size but I can't remember what it is.

In what way was Conquest "obselete" already? Does the Grolar have that much impact?

Having the best brute force and durability from all the collosals, just didn't make up for the worst firepower and mobility.

I was literally wishing that that was what PP was releasing when they first announced what was to become Trilyth, so I can only wish that they will have come to their senses and take this opportunity to release a Gargantuan Thagrosh!

Or failing that, Everblight reborn, now THAT would also be pretty amazing!

Possibly, but PP doesn't always have symmetrical releases. But I'd say the chance of a Dracocile showing up are pretty strong given its appearance in the latest Monstronomicon.

Did Cryx really need more recursion?

I'm not sure what we would've wanted out of a new collossal, but more recursion may have been on the bottom of my list.

On that note, gimme a damn amphibious farrow gargantuan please!

Why?

Gargantuans have natural pathfinder and aren't affected by water like Colossals are so what would be the point of being Amphibious?

If its completely within deep water it doesn't block LoS and can't be attacked or attacked by models that aren't also in the deep water.

The part about water rules that nobody ever uses or cares about.

Because gunslingerpro is confusing how the Pact Warbeast rules work. A model that was both amphibious and Farrow would work for both Pacts, but a Gargantuan would actually require being a Minion Farrow Gatorman Warbeast to be used with both sets of Warlocks.

You Minion players sure have some strange reasoning for your model needs, but as long as the Minion Gargantuan also works for Legion like the Sacral Vault, I think I would be ok with that.

Well, as long as the Warlock works for Legion, you'll have plenty of access to it in 2 Warlock games.
