Ah gak! You and your promos did quite well out of me last year!

On a separate note, I'm giving the Warhams a rest this year and will be looking for Kensei, Dropzone Commander, Malifaux and Hordes stuff this year, change of scenery so to speak!

Hawk Wargames stand last year was amazing and the development of the game since (and dropfleet!) makes it the stand i'm most looking forward to! Wayland and Troll Trader were great for perusing, just hope there's a table to match the epic beach landing one that spanned several tables in length!

Yes the Dropzone set up one was one of the highlights of the show, they had some good guys going demo games as well which were fun.

The saddest thing is going to be going to the Prodos stand, and seeing exactly the same miniatures and set-up that we saw last year.

Although there have been rumours of an April release to KS backers, so who knows?

Aparently the owner doesn't like the hassle of conventions. But some of their employees and designers were wandering around last year if you knew who to look for!

Shame because there was a good chance of me getting some of their modular scenics...

I think this year for me will be all about flocks, terrain etc for my gaming table. Like all previous Salutes most my plans will be shattered once I arrive there. Just too many good minis everywhere you look.

Some news on Beasts of War about Salute, there had been talk of them having to change venue but looks like it will be staying at the Excel centre for the time being

After a weekend of people wondering if Salute 2015 was going to be the last at the ExCel and pondering on it’s future we’ve had confirmation that Salute isn’t going anywhere and it won’t be leaving the ExCel centre anytime soon either…

Salute 2015…so, never fear! Some members of the South London Warlords got in touch to tell us everything is hunky-dory when it comes to the venue and continued events for the foreseeable future.

In the mean time make sure to study that poster above and come along to Salute 2015 where the theme is going to be Agincourt! It’s great to see some medieval stuff going down and don’t forget we’ll be there covering the event with Live Blogs AND the big participation game for the Battle of Hoth. Nice looking list of games and demos there - the avp one will certainly pull in the crowds I think... Especially if the KickStarter hasn't been delivered by then (although no doubt they will pull the demo game if it's still in the Fox approval hell...)

Probably a queue for their blood if things continue as they have been with the KS recently!

Seriously though, definitely looking forward to that. It would have been as depressing as hell seeing the miniatures in exactly the same positions in the miniature cabinet as they had been last year..

And an official statement from the South London Warlords...
THE SOUTH LONDON WARLORDS AND SALUTE

The South London Warlords would like to reassure gamers and traders that SALUTE will be held at Excel for the foreseeable future. We operate on a rolling contract with the management at ExCel and, as such, we are committed to running SALUTE there in 2016 and beyond.

SALUTE, we are pleased to say, is a thriving event and continues to grow every year. Each year, The South London Warlords aim to improve the show and hope to give both visitors and traders a great day out and provide gamers with a chance to see the best the gaming hobby has to offer.

This year’s show is looking to be even bigger than last year’s. We have over 100 participation and demonstration games for you to look at, plus well over 150 trade stands for you to visit, along with the internationally renowned SALUTE painting competition.

The South London Warlords hope you will enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and have an exciting day of gaming at SALUTE, whether you are a veteran gamer or someone looking to start in the hobby.

Looks like they are trying to tackle the huge queues with this layout. Rather than have hundreds of gamers blocking the main walkway we'll get herded into an adjacent space and queued up from their... Keep the nerds / geeks away from the Marathon runners maybe Oh and the Sherlock fans (who are probably as geeky / nerdy as us...)... Yes - Mr Cumberbatch will be at ExCel that weekend...

This was the queue system last year just after the doors officially opened - it led you back out into the main concourse to get into the 'hangar' next door...
Spoiler:

I will say though the queue (pre-paid tickets) moved really quickly so hopefully will be as good (or better) this year...

The queues were absurd last year. A full hour to get in, whilst a mate just strolled straight in and bypassed it!

What are people most looking forward to seeing from this list then?

Obviously, a lot of Agincourt stuff, so will be interesting to see who manages the most impressive interpretation of that (I see someone has a 750 miniature display!)

South London Warlords and Salute

5 March at 21:44 ·

This year has seen the introduction of a new ticketing system for the South London Warlords show Salute, what follows is a short explanation to try and shed some light on this change.

From my point of view I think probably the main reason this change was implemented was because we needed something that would help get people into the show much quicker and easier than our normal queuing system.
Over the past few years the queues have been getting longer and harder to deal with, once the doors opened at 10am we then had to get the advanced ticket holders in and then we had to start to collect the money for all those paying on the day!
This has been an issue that we have wanted to try and deal with for many years.

It was suggested that I look into E-ticketing as a way forward to help with this issue, and after a few meetings and a lot of scratching of heads we thought it would be good to at least try this and see if it helps with this years show, but for it to work at all we felt we needed a separate hall to do this in.

Well after some negotiating with ExCel we managed to get a separate queuing hall at one end of our normal show hall, and with making an entrance in the temporary wall system we have taken the queues off the boulevard, what this means is that this year visitors will enter the show from this queuing hall.

In this queuing hall we will have people with scanners for the pre-paid advanced tickets and a section to take the cash on the day ( hopefully from just after 7am!! ), this will mean that at 10am, when we normally open the doors, everyone in the queuing hall will have had their tickets checked or paid their money and will be ready to enter the show!!

We hope...

Hope you all have a great show.

Isn't that going to cause a 10am scrum if everyone's paid up and waiting for the doors to open? It'll still be a queue regardless!

It's quicker to check a ticket than deal with payment. That queue will certainly move faster. I'll probably go again this year. I went last year and found it a bit much with the crowds and queuing. I whizzed around the stalls and spent quite a bit on what I wanted, then left fairly early. The demo games were great so I'll do it again despite reservations.

Fenris Games pre-order offer

Afternoon all - I'm still catching up with the backlog of orders caused by last month's compressor failure and other assorted issues but am now rapidly whittling down the outstanding casting & cutting jobs and digging into the pile of overdue Loyalty Card orders, too. Meanwhile Salute 2015 on Saturday April 24th is now fast approaching and while I'm still currently doing everything here solo I need as much heads-up as possible to both a) create stock for the show and b) make sure everyone who wants something specific will be able to pick it up from us there.

With that in mind I'm running the usual show pre-order scheme - get your orders in now for collection on the day and save yourself not just postage costs but also grab a sliding scale of discounts. Pre-order £50 or more and get 10% off with code SALUTE1510; use code SALUTE1515 if spending over £100, and if you're planning a big spend there's 20% off for pre-orders of £200 or more with code SALUTE1520. (NB the webcart will charge you postage but I'll manually refund that for you ASAP).

I'm still hoping to have a limited number of Cthulhu Wars core game box sets at the show, too but will run a separate promo & discount for pre-orders on those as and when the details are finalised.

As always, please note that Loyalty Card balances cannot be used in conjunction with these discounts (though you can, of course, use your LC balance normally if you plan on picking up a bunch of stuff from us at the show!)

If you’re an Advanced E-Ticket Holder at this years event you could be in for a big treat…

Some exciting news.

This year the South London Warlords are doing something different with the way we give out our cash prizes at SALUTE.
If you are an ADVANCE E-TICKET HOLDER this year, look inside the SALUTE programme in your show carrier bag … where you could be the lucky recipient of one of four GOLDEN TICKETS – one worth an ‘ARMOUR PIERCING’ £250, another a ‘SHIELD SMASHING’ £150 and two a ‘CHARGE BREAKING’ £50 in value.

If you are lucky enough to find one of these golden tickets in your programme, simply take it along to the SOUTH LONDON WARLORDS information stand at the show, after 12.30 pm on the day, to claim your cash prize.

REMEMBER, YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE AN ADVANCE E-TICKET IN ORDER TO HAVE A CHANCE AT FINDING ONE OF THESE GOLDEN TICKETS.

ADVANCE E-TICKETS ARE AVALIBABLE FROM OUR WEBSITE AT http://www.salute.co.uk

AND ARE ONLY £10.00 EACH.

GOOD LUCK!
