Something just doesn't sit right with me. I think it's his awkward right arm. Maybe it looks better irl!

He does look better in person. The boxart was photographed from a terrible angle.

Yeah, I kind of realized that after I had made the thread, my bad

Shadowrun is the best game ever. It's the only thing I have ever played in which I have jumped out of a shot out van with a chainsaw to cut a flying drone in half before leveling a building with ANFO assisted by a troll, a dwarf, an elf, and a wizard.

I stand by my list, though I'd add Kayazy (all of them).

I would love it if they made everything in pewter again. I know it won't happen, but it was one of the reasons for me swapping over from 40k in MKI, I know the costs of the game would skyrocket... But it would be nice if they made a special "Painters Edition" that could only be direct ordered from their website that was pewter. Sorry to derail the thread!

Just about everything could be improved. Not that I think its all bad, I think there's a lot of character and charm in the range, but it could be improved.

They Have a section on their website where you can get some of the old metal stuff still. Collectors models or something like that.

That's a very good point. Obviously I don't know if you're being sarcastic or literal but in the literal sense you have a very good point. Most things can be improved and I'm sure the designers themselves would agree!

Kayazy assassins.

Looks like a bunch of cosplaying Sloth's from Goonies.

Black 13th due to the fact that they are out of scale with the other minis.

I'd be happy with new Mechanithralls/Bile Thralls.

Both sculpts are showing their age, and the Biles are obnoxious to put next to each other with the 'Bursting' model extending like an inch beyond his base sideways.

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

I think Vyros1 is the only model I don't like much in Retribution, so he would get my vote.

Playing: Droids (Legion), Starks (ASOIAF), BB2
Working on: Starks (ASOIAF), Twilight Kin (KoW). Droids (Legion)

I'd love to see a resculpt of the Winter Troll!

You see them in Borka's art in the background and they look so cool and menacing - then the model is this ugly spindly opera singer - and metal to boot.

Worst part is that they made a plastic Lightning troll that looks quite cool and missed the opportunity to make it a dual kit - all it would need is alt head, furry back spines, and alt hands/forearms with fur.

Right now I'm using these guys for lack of a better option. Although it gives the purists fits.

The Avatar of Menoth. His model is the absolute worst. Those tiny feet and that derpy sword. Its awful.

Do the right thing PP, get on that.

And Behemoth. He's too small, posed weirdly and just looks silly. I'd like a new Deathjack too, not sure if that's contraversial or not.

I'd like to see the Skorne Cataphract units redone actually. But I mean properly, not just slightly updated, I really hate them and I don't think I'll ever buy them for my Skorne while they look like they do. I think if I could only pick one it might be that because they're the only thing I don't like about Skorne really.

Depends who you ask. Some of the models look nice but the aestetic isn't for everyone. My friend hates every single warjack model because of how top heavy they are. Also remember some of these models are VERY old.

Also depends what you come from. Side by Side GW models usually blow PP out of the water (when comparing releases from a similar time frame, don't compare a mammoth against the old verminlords). But remember GW doesn't consider itself a game company but a model company. PP considers itself a game company and as such while their models may lose out to GW, their rules definitely win hand over fist.

It took a while for me to come around to the aesthetic, but I think the recent output from PP matches GWs models. I prefer GWs plastic but apart from that, I don't think they're any worse than GW models. Just a different feel. That said I'm not keen on a lot of GWs recent models.

At least with Behemoth you can use an Extreme Juggernought to make an Extremoth.

Xerxis is one of my favorite dudes in the story, becuase he's such a stone cold badass, never been beaten all that jazz, and honestly I have no problems with his model

The reason I'd 'recast' it will be because of the following article where someone made a re-scuplt and it was fething amazing

http://privateerpress.com/community/privateer-insider/insider-9-12-2014

Long story short...

Unlike most male miniatures, which feature well-defined abdominal muscles, the strong man has a solid, keg-like stomach, as well as massive shoulders.
I decided to create a less action-oriented pose. Rather than pancaking his enemies, my Xerxis is standing by, calmly surveying his army as it rushes into battle.

Grissel-1 and Magnus-1, for the same reasons--just very awkward, squashed poses. If you look at their epic versions, they're just so much better.

"The 75mm gun is firing. The 37mm gun is firing, but is traversed round the wrong way. The Browning is jammed. I am saying "Driver, advance." and the driver, who can't hear me, is reversing. And as I look over the top of the turret and see twelve enemy tanks fifty yards away, someone hands me a cheese sandwich."

Yea, I know about that, I use it quite often. It iisn't exactly what I would want. With all of tbese new models coming out as a resin/metal hybrid, or as pure plastic, I just wish we were given the option to get say Ruin completely in pewter. I know I am just a stickler but it sure as heck would be nice.

Why is resin and metal not good? The PP resin is excellent in my experience, keeps the weight down, holds the detail just as well as the metal. The plastic I can see you wanting metal instead but I don't really see the upside to changing the resin to metal.

Knights Exemplar Senschal. The way its arms are posed look really weird, which is amusing considering it's a sword master. It's the only non-Warjack model in the Protectorate range that makes me go "Uw" which says a whole lot considering I'm in love with all other Exemplar models.

The pKreoss variant I'm not fond of either but I might be saying that only because his Battlebox plastic is such an excellent model.

Assault Kommandos are also showing their age next to the other Khador soldiers.
