I've stopped painting lately as well. Just kind of busy and all.

I would like to be able to spend an awful lot more time on the "hobby" than I am capable of doing right now.

I have a situation with a doctor who is literally ruining my life (she cost me a $150,000 contract doing Architectural Sculpting because of her refusal to provide more than 30 days of medication at a time, claiming it is "illegal." This requires me to spend nearly two weeks of every month traveling back-and-forth to Los Angeles from Houston, just to get a fething prescription refill). Aside from the lost income, she has also cost me around $15,000 in travel expenses as well.

So... About all I can do is paint what miniatures I have, and try to plan for work as soon as I can get a new doctor (and deal with suing her).

It sucks because she has held up so many projects and other people's work as well.

I don't so much mind being stuck painting miniatures, but it bites to have one's life so arbitrarily interfered with.

Not weird at all. I'm always rearranging my bits box.

Yeah, the hobby is far more than just pushing miniatures around a table... It's an evil entity that will steal your life, if you let it

Back when I had free time, I spent a lot of it writing alternate army lists, designing scenarios, and poring through the unpainted mini collection planning out new projects.

I have just brought a label maker to label all the shoeboxes and tins...

It was sort of a nice surprise to go through them all and discover what was there every six months, but it was also a bit shocking.

After reading this thread...

I started a speadsheet...just to class models into BNIB, made, undercoated, three- coats, finished. The idea being to not buy any more and to concentrate on moving stuff along the production line.

Since then I have had an ebay-lapse as well as spending too much time at the local GW where I get weak and splash cash on big boxes. On at least three occasions when GW used to have pre orders available on Friday night, I have returned from the pub after too many pints and drunkenly thought "oooohhhhh pretty....". Bang. 80 quid later...

I even have a spare set of paints and models at my girlfriend's. Needless to say, I track my paint and model location on the spreadsheet as well.

My name in FacebookJunkie and I am also a plastic junkie.
