Cryx is the infantry swarm faction, definitely not the Warjack heavy faction, though they do rely on caster support with some of the strongest in the game. Convergence is definitely the faction for Warjacks right now, though less spells, due to the efficiency of their Focus sharing/generating abilities. While they tend to run less infantry than Cryx, they tend to have similar themes of non-living and recursion. The troops are usually more durable while less damaging though. One downside to these though may be their overall lack of options as they are a mini faction of sorts and won't see full support of releases like others.

Protectorate can do some of the most powerful/efficient Jacks due to their unique solo and unit support for them, and are quite fond of spellcaster support. Their spellcasters are usually indivigually weaker than those of Cryx, often wanting to stay as far back from the action as possible.

I decided to start with Circle as that seems to be more my speed than Cryx. Thank you all so much for your help.

Circle is definitely the shenanigan faction of Hordes, like Cryx is for Warmachine. And yeah, you'll find much more love for the big stompies in Hordes than Warmachine if you don't mind monsters over robots.

Depending on how much I like the system I may go ahead and start Cryx next.

Need to know which jacks are attached to which caster. As a rule, Morty isn't a huge fan of Aikos, as most (if not all) of her spells only really benefit Warjacks in HER battlegroup.

That doesn't mean Aiakos will not work with her, but she typically skews towards wanting all the jacks to herself. As to the two extra points, having a few Necrotechs around with those jacks is always helpful.

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

I was thinking Stalker with Aiakos. Everyone else with Morty.

Not a bad idea, but you lose the advantage of Overrun, which sets up some pretty fantastic feat turn assassinations. Plus having 28" of control on the Stalker is nothing to sneeze at.

That's a good point. is there a jack that work particularly well with Aiakos?

Leviathans love Aiakos for being able to give them three Focus a turn.
