Great review, Kilkrazy! You've whet my appetite even more. Hope I'm not disappointed when I rifle through the shops here...

Bought a copy of this today and it's brilliant, perfect for someone who plays both board games and wargames like me.
Very high wordcount and good articles, even a small painting article in there too.
Well worth the price, going to subscribe to it.
Managed to find a copy in WH Smiths in the PC gaming section, one store had already sold out of all their copies, so I went to another where they had a few left. Seems to be selling out quite fast for a 3-monthly mag!

Anyone looking for a copy in Forbidden Planet Belfast: I got the last one! Fnar fnar.
I was told it sold like hot cakes, which is a good sign, and I could add it to my pull box, which'll help with that forgetting-it-after-three-months thing. (Not to mention it'll keep those lonely issues of BPRD company)
Anyway. Still have to have a proper read, but from a flick-through it looks pretty good. As said, there's a lot of stuff mentioned, especially boardgames. I don't mind this too much because, as I might've mentioned recently, I like browsing through the diversity in the hobby (part of the reason I buy WSS, for the historicals side) and dabble in a few board games. It just seems like the wargames they did mention are among the big-name, minis+rules package games; I hope they can spare a bit of attention for smaller, independent, rules-less mini ranges and conversely, miniless rules, in future issues. I think WSS is pretty good in that regard, offering scenarios for certain rulesets, with suggested tweaks for others, and putting on showcases of new minis and the various available mini ranges suitable for each issue's period themes. Tabletop Gaming might have to do something slightly different if dealing with a lot of proprietary settings and their bolted-on minis and rules, but I don't think it's impossible.
Still. Two thumbs up so far.
(Also, finally decided to buy an issue of Retro Gamer today. It's got Paul Davies from Mean Macines Sega in it and everyfing!)

Always ask if you can't find it as they can hide mags in odd places
(and even if they didn't get this issue having somebody ask about it means they are more likely to get the next one)

Although, it's quite possible that it might actually get more sales next to PC Gamer and Playstation, rather than next to craft-fair monthly and the radio-control boat almanac on the other side of the magazine racks

Picked this up today.
Most impressed and will be back for more.
The old school style Battle report -- Kings of War 2nd edition IIRC -- nearly brought a tear to my eye.

Phew... that's issue two done and dusted! Doesn't seem like five minutes ago we were finishing issue one ready for the UK Games Expo. Issue two will be on sale from September 3rd. Right, we're off down the Winchester for a nice, cold pint.

Is there somewhere to buy this mail order?
I hunted all over for issue 1 and couldn't find it. (And would still like it) I can't imagine issue 2 will be any different locating.
Is it available on subs?

I tried dabbling with 40k9/10 again and tried AoS3 - Nice models, naff games, but I'm enjoying HH2 and loving Battletech Classic and Alpha Strike. |

That is indeed a nice cover! I'm looking forward to the history of British wargaming feature in this issue.
Interesting that they have obviously had their copy of AvP for long enough to have given it a review while I'm still bloody waiting for mine!

Great news everyone! Issue two of Tabletop Gaming is now in stock on our website - http://bit.ly/1PWDKjn and subscribers should be getting their copies shortly.
Meanwhile from Friday, issue two will once again be stocked in WHSmith stores around the country and plenty of gaming shops too - in fact, if you're one of those shops give yourself a 'shout out' below... crikey, we're turning into Radio One.
Finally, if you'd like to subscribe from issue three then take a look here http://bit.ly/1JaHr2d

Afternoon everyone - another quick update about issue five, although this time it's the digital edition.
Anyone who downloads the digital edition of issue five - which is also out today - will get a FREE introductory rulebook for Deadzone Version 2.0. This 66-page guide tells you all about the rules in this new edition, along with army lists for two of the core factions: Forge Fathers and Enforcers.
The rulebook is included as part of the download and can be found after the last page of the normal magazine... or you can tap the flash on the front cover to go straight to it
