True that, but I like that "not right" scale. I actually used 1/32 light tanks (that's right, made entirely out of light) and they are within 5mm of a GW model. Tanks hulls for APC also work well, you just need to detail the hole left by the turret.

I could be wrong, but I think Bullcockist was referring to "real" tanks as in not-models and was making a joke about how 1/1 scale is much bigger than 28mm.
But it makes for a great game!

The Auld Grump - where did you get a 3 inch paintball for your howitzer?

Though, if you have the money, and are in a hurry, air mail is available....

And we can hang that one on the account that I'm not a native speaker and move along, these are not the tanks you're looking for.

GW on a budget for me is carefully navigating eBay sales. If I get impatient, I'll look through the discount web-sites. If that fails, I'll go through my FLGS.

I have not had to buy direct from GW for ages, and I don't plan to.

That's okay - native speakers make the same mistake on a frequent basis - English is a silly language.

The Auld Grump - to be honest, I thought that it was deliberate... English is a very silly language.

All I can say about the tank matter is this.

Also, Orkifying historical tanks seem to be a fun thing to do.

Ebay and the like, just remember to limit yourself and build slowly, 60-70 dollars a month if you can manage. Have you tried Amazon? Though with all of the GW hate here, you may be asking in the wrong place for actual help.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

eBay or halves with a friend on a starter box. Its still the easiest way to go.

You can definitely get started for only about $150, and even sticking with that annual budget you end up with a vast collection a few years down the line.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

I looked up what shipping UPS to Brazil was from Pennsylvania and it was crazy expensive. Getting the shipping cost to an acceptable price is going to be the hard part.

There are still stores that ship internationally, it can just take a little digging to find them. I would add a +1 to the eBay suggestion.

There are also services in the UK and US that provide a 'local' address that you can have things shipped to, and they then forward them on to you. Not the cheapest option, but bound to be cheaper than GW's inflated international shipping, if those services ship to Brazil.

So, if nothing else, we've established that you didn't read the thread before replying, I suppose...

Why use UPS? The service sucks, and costs an arm and a leg.

Use first class international shipping from USPS. The pricing should be much lower.

Hey Keraun0s, what models have you bought so far? I assume there was a given army you were into? If your heart's set on it maybe we can find the cheapest way to build a good force. I know the cost of building a good IG army can vary from a few hundred to over a thousand USD depending on what you use.

Promotion of illegal recasting is strictly forbidden on DakkaDakka.

I would like to know for future reference what laws from what country is applied on this site.So this does not happen again.Just so happens from here(spain)mostly europe. If i recast a model and sell it to a 3rd party for the cost of material it isnt illegal.I know what Im talking about .Buying from a country that isnt illegal to recast and pay my shipping fees when it comes to my house.I can sell it off and I have to be honest from where it came from like china.Like i said its not illegal here.
So please from what country do you apply the laws here.

Ebay is a great source for cheap 40k. It's where I bought most of my army. Also keep an eye out in local wargaming circles, there are always people looking to sell stuff on.
