Few things are feared more in the bowels of the underhives than the Body Snatchers, more machine than man they stalk the darker passages, lurking in hidden corners out of view. They wait, patiently, silently, unblinking for their prey to pass by alone, and then they spring their attacks, ferretting away the unconcious body before anyone knows what has happened. Some say they have access to the Gene Banks of the hive, stalking individuals that suit their dark masters needs, but such talk is heresy, if the forces of Chaos had access to such sensitive information it would be a violation on the highest of levels, nobody would be safe.

My WIP AoS Giant for my Giant-kin force! Wanted to inject a bit more story and character into the Giants of the setting so I'm working on a Jotunn War Clan, basically a war party of giants who have gained a following of lesser giant-kin in order to pillage and destroy.
“There is a point, where Savagery and Brute force outweigh the need for reason or intellect, when a beast transcends its mortal shell to become a force of nature. The Jotunn are this point, they are the hurricane and the flood, those who hear their roar must secure what they can, seek safer ground and pray they are passed by unscathed. It has been an age since the drums of war were heard from the Mawfang Gate, since Sigmar tamed the beast. And for the sake of mankind I pray it will be another age shall pass without them.”
Amulus Thawn – Celestial Chronicler, The Tome of Beasts
The concept is that Sigmar forged a peace with the Jotunn in times forgotten, that neither would make war on the other as the feud would last until time itself stopped. However with Chaos spilling into the Realm of Beasts the Jotunn do not distinguish between the different creeds of Man-kin, instead their dominance has been challenged within their own realm. To show weakness in the realm of beasts is to invite predators to claim your life. Such a challenge must be answered in force and thus the Jotunn have sounded the drums of war once more.

The giant is definately looking brutal! The bloodthirster axe looks quite well sized for a giant, same goes with the arms. I do think the giant could use a beefy shoulderpad though.

Thanks yeah I looked at that shoulder alot in the photo and I'm sure its off somehow but I dont think the angle of the photo is too flattering. This should be the first of three giants (Shaman and Trapper being the next two, this one dubbed Bezerker)

Cheers, I really love the concept of the eldar aspects but found alot of the models to be very... lacking in terms of the modern kits available to other armies.
And now...
More progress on the giant and a look at how he was before painting started. I'd say I'm about halfway through at this project shot!

Very cool! I'm intrigued to see where this force goes; an army of big models led by a bunch of Giants has potential to be amazingly characterful!

The reason that it feels a bit off might be the fact that the arms are very muscular while the body is... well.. not so much. Personally I would cover parts of the right (raised) shoulder with some pieces of armor but that's mainly because once my brain picks up something like this it can't really let it go and some coverage might help. With that said, the model is nice as it is!

Yeah unfortunately the giant body tends to lean toward the more.. potbellied approach unlike the arms, I may revisit shoulderpads later on but for now am hesitant to ruin the paint job in the process of sculpting over it.
The basing materials have arrived so here is the bezerker roaming through the meadow!
And my WIP Jotunn Ghur Shaman (Counts as Thundertusk)
Jötunn Shaman, noticeably smaller than his bezerker kin. The children of those Jötunn proven to be of weak heritage are cast out into the wild to become prey for greater beasts. Most perish in days but rarely, some years later one will return. These are called the Ghur Shaman, those forged anew by the wild, often mad and quite dangerous but with an affinity for beasts and tribal magics. Those possessed of true magics dispute the Jotunns claim, they say that magic is an intellectual art and the Jotunn simply do not possess the mental faculties to truly wield it. If magic were poetry then the powers that the Ghur Shaman wield is little more than shouting obscenities at the wind.

Its been a while since i did a proper update, the Jotunn force now stands at:
1 Tyrant Giant
1 Shaman
1 Cyclops
1 Ettin
1 Giant Runt
1 Stone Giant
3 River Trolls
I'll work on getting pictures up for them soon, but I have undertaken a new project to run alongside them, an Ogre Tyrant who threw his lot in with Khorne.

Thanks guys, I play at my local GW and they're very accepting of counts as if the conversion fits the theme, the unboundness of AoS has allowed me to essentially borrow various warscrolls to suit my armies needs in order to maximise on conversion potential. So a quick rogues gallery!
Jotunn War Tyrant
Warscroll: Giant (Added keyword: Hero)
Stone Giant
Warscroll: Stonehorn
Giant Shaman
Warscroll: Thundertusk (ranged attack is his "Magic")
Ettin Alechucker
Warscroll: Iron Blaster
Atar the Slaughterer (Giant Runt)
Warscroll: Daemonprince (less wounds than a giant cause he's smaller)
Cyclops
Warscroll: Cygor
Ogre Tyrant of the Skull Throne on Hellbeast
Warscroll: Vampire lord on Zombie Dragon
Ogre Paymaster on Great Plainsbeast
Warscroll: Chaos Warmammoth
Plus:
3 River Trolls
5 Iron Guts
5 Iron Guts
4 Leadbelchers
2 Bray Shaman
And some mournfang cavalry!
