Whilst I agree with you about the demonettes, they were a very small proportion of the whole GW output. The relentless genocidal hyper-violence might in some way be considered a worse thing to deal with.

I was going to say! The latest Wrathblood Bloodwrathers of Khorne who massacre people with their sword-chucks and stick spikes through their arms are fine, but show a nipple and everyone loses their minds.

"The 75mm gun is firing. The 37mm gun is firing, but is traversed round the wrong way. The Browning is jammed. I am saying "Driver, advance." and the driver, who can't hear me, is reversing. And as I look over the top of the turret and see twelve enemy tanks fifty yards away, someone hands me a cheese sandwich."

To look at the situation more positively it is an opportunity, because the company is more efficient now than five years ago, so if thehy can expand sales their profit margin will increase rapidly.

I'd agree if I thought any of the money save by increasing efficiency was being reinvested in the business instead of heading straight to shareholder dividends.

It's not the kind of thing someone normally says, kind of like telling people you're not on fire, it's not relevant if you aren't on fire, and a clear sign there's something wrong with you if you are but refuse to acknowledge there's a problem.

I think its just directed specifically to us weird people of DakkaDakka and Warseer who pick apart GW's financial statements line, when these statements really aren't expected to be read at all. Its saying 'shut up DakkaDakka, I'm not caving to your incessant whinging: we're profitable, staying profitable, increasingly profitable, deal with it'.
Because, goodness knows, no multinational company should ever expect their financial reports to be read, especially by the consumers of the products that multinational company produces....

I really hate to tell you this - but any company that creates a financial report expects it to be read - and that the shareholders of a company are quite likely to include consumers among their number.

So, yes, they should expect that crowing about decreasing costs of manufacture while celebrating a price increase is likely to get noticed.

And that, likewise, crowing that you do no market research is going to get noticed by shareholders.

The reason I bought rules and became a real wargamer was because I wanted a properly thought out structure to govern the action instead of just making things up as I went along.

Heh Auld you are being nice in your assessment.

Adam's Motto: Paint, Create, Play, but above all, have fun. -and for something silly below-

"We are the Ultramodrines, And We Shall Fear No Trolls. bear this USR with pride".

Also, how does one apply to be a member of the Ultramodrines? Are harsh trials involved, ones that would test my faith as a wargamer and resolve as a geek?

You must recite every rule of Dakka Dakka. BACKWARDS.
