I don't think I'd suggest these as best (my vote goes to Otherworld if you've got the money and the newer WGF if you can find them) but some of my favorite skeletons are the ones from RAFM

They do suffer from the same issues as the early Ral Partha ones in that they are smaller than where GW has gone with the scale of their miniatures. I find them fun though.

I prefer homemade skeletons. Everybody has at least one!

I do not like that Mantic skellies all seem to have "Angry Eyes". As a radiographer, that drives me crazy.

Skeletons walking around doesn't though?

Well I guess skeletons are walking around all the time, just can't see them what with all the meat and stuff...

You look at enough pictures of peoples bones, you just take it for granted after awhile. We'd probably be overjoyed if a skeleton just strolled in off the street - wouldn't even need to warm up the xray tube, just get him to take a selfie.

EDIT: Ooo, and I like those RAFM cavalry skellies.

The only problem with them is their size. They're great if you're going with true 28mm miniatures, but I've noticed that my GW, Reaper and many other fantasy miniatures are just too big for them to fit in.

I was going to suggest GW skellies from the late 80's and 90's which come with in great variety and armaments. Then I looked on eBay because I was goung to suggest the excellent Nightmare Legion particularly and they're like 8 quid each!

Sod that, instead I would suggest Wargames Foundry who have some cool Greek themed ones;

or Casting Room miniatures' huge undead range (Wargames Foundry old stuff cast to order I believe):

http://www.castingroomminiatures.com/collections/undead

Both ranges are all metal, a good thing in a Skellie I think.

Just to note that Casting Room and Wargames Foundry are the same company, along with Warmonger IIRC. They'll combine shipping across the 3 companies if you email and ask.

There's a skeleton INSIDE YOU RIGHT NOW.

Spoiler:

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”
