If this is on the level then the OP should man up and share his stuff with his son. If your Mrs is preventing you from buying your boy toys when you want to then you have worse problems than life lessons for Junior.

If I read correctly, I don't think that his wife is preventing him from buying his toys, but instead doesn't want to give the boy an allowance earned by doing chores around the house.

From a look at other's posts it would seem as though this is not a normal stance. I would say that the vast majority would teach their kids about jobs and accountability through the carrot/stick approach to earning, especially with household chores in the pre-employment years.

To the OP, welcome to Dakka where even lies are pedantically analyzed!

xraytango, you read it right. I'm in favor of allowance, the wife is not. And no, it's not normal in my eyes either, but I digress.

To the rest of you all, I apologize for coming off aggressive or hostile in my defense. I went back and re-read everything and I was wrong. I should have taken the time and gotten to know the community first before even contemplating asking the question, learn more about the game and fluff, and also spend time contributing on the forums. Please accept my humble apology and I look forward to talking more with you all.

And with that, I think this thread is all done.
