I read about "Fenris campaing" on WD few days ago. It had idea about apocalypse datasheet for magnus only saying about a Vortex grenade.
Now i want you to figure out what are good stats, wargear and rules for him.

My idea: Master of sorcery: both chaos and SM psychic powers. He may cast 4 spells per turn and target diffrent squads.

Seeing as how he is Magnus he should not suffer damage from a failed Perils of the Warp test other then to cancel out the Psychic power he was trying to use.

This is a Daemon weapon idea i got: CC: Normal daemon weapon (with no icon stats) roll of 1 brings only 1 extra attack (The weapon wont rebel) Shooting: Range 24" S9 AP1 Type 2D6 (Rolls of 1 wont rebel)

@ComputerGeek01: It would be pretty annoying if the spell would be canceled (point is when you are using vortex grenade (counted as a spell) and you would fail there it goes, no more vortexes (exept vortex of doom)) so maybe the spell cannot be used for 1 turn, and on the second turn on roll of 2+ the spell comes usable again?

Oh yeah! what if you use vortex grenade and cant use any other spell that turn?

Um, that S9 AP1 2D6 shots sounds very overpowered. Maybe D3? Or D6?

He should have his own set of psychic powers, two force weapons and artificer armor. Among other things....

Lightning of tzeentch- STR 9 AP 2 Assault 3,rending
Warp flames- Str 6 AP3 assault 2 blast OR STR 6 AP 4 Flamer,melta (Wtheck melta and flamer template?)

Honestly, he's magnus. He SHOULD be broken. He's basically the greatest Sorcerer in existence, aside from the emperor and Tzeentch himself. He should really be able to have a 2+invulnerable save.

I think: 8 6 10 7 5 8 6 10 2+ 3++ 750 points

5 5 4 4 1 4 2 10 2+/3++ Special rules: Slow and Purposful, Inferno Bolts, the Sorcerer Commands, Fearless, mark of Tzeench
Wargear: Twin-linked bolter, power weapon
Sorcerer:
5 5 4 4 2 4 3 10 2+/3++ Special rules: Inferno Bolts, Fearless, Mark of Tzeench
Wargear: Twin-linked bolter, force weapon
Psychic powers: Bolt of Change, Doombolt

It would cost with 4 terminators and sorcerer about 270 pts.

Rubric Terminators are actually supposed to be Terminators with mark of Tzeentch, although they don't move slowly.

Stick a correctly painted sorcerer in terminator armor with them and you got some nice fluff!

The thing about Tzeetnch terminators I have issues with is that why would the Thousand Sons give Terminator armour to non psychic brethren? Personally I interpret Tzeentch power armour troops as Rubric marines and Tzeentch terminators as having some sort of psychic potential. It can be noted however that in 3.5, Tzeentch terminators were rubric but could also be upgraded to aspiring sorcerers .

As a Primarch and a deamon prince he should cost more than any greater deamon or IC in any codex. He really should be 600-1,000 points.

I would say that Magnus should cost around 500 points. I think i can use those terminator stats, so lets consiterate on Magnus for a change. (Tzeench will change our ways! )

Just have him auto-pass all psychic tests. Same effect, and more realistic since he is a master of sorcery.

Yeah, and Angron also sucks the big one.

@Goggari-I believe that any models that touch the vortex grenade template instantly die, and vehicles with structure points take d3 hits or something like that. I just know about the 2nd and 1st edition vortex grenades. They also move around randomly and stuff.
