Just wondering, on the army boxed set and army book of the ONI they show off these generic human soldiers with gasmasks, are these going to be done as well or are they just random background filler and we've got to work with crappy zombies instead?

COMING SOON TO CHANNEL7 - The insidious masterminds of HADES are constantly threatening the free nations of the world through acts of terror and theft of top secret equipment. The scheming Elliot Fontaine is trying to dominate the world market with his Fontaine Industries products. The evil Red Empire is encroaching upon the world with its armies of misguided minions. The Republic of Alruco is a hotbed of intrigue and murder. Finally.. the mysterious island Kingdom of Korvosa are getting more and more bold with their science projects.

The forces of good are preparing their agencies, amongst them the British CROWN and American OMEGA, to combat these evil factions and ensure that freedom will prevail once more!

Well, Oni amndnd the COgs are the two most recent armies, so it will take time for all units to be released as it happened with other armies... also expect some delays in the near future as RE seems to be working on the rulebook V2

The ONI Korps are units on the release schedule, but the schedule has been revised to allow for the production of the much needed revised rulebook. Everything may be on hold but you can get your mercenariy troopers earlier by proxying some guardsmen or converting your own. First off is it worth while? There are two types of ONI Korps, ONI Korps TH use Therians weapons, the firepower is good especially because the basic gun gets a reroll but the heavy weapon doesnt do anything a Dual Light MG cant do better. ONI Korps UN cost 25pts more for the unit but have a melee better basic accuracy, though without reroll and a a pair of lascannon. The latter are more useful becaise ONI do not lack for anti-infantry weaponry, they dont lack for anti-vehicle weaponry much either, but they do lack anti-vehicle weapons amongst their other bulk infantry units. Thus if you want anti-vehicle firepower with a cover save and numbers to last then ONI Korps UN can have a role in your army. In general I think ONI Korps will be good for hiding infantry characters, but they arent really necessary except in MercForce lists and MercForce is to be avoided IMHO. Zombies and vehicles are the way forward, ONI Korps are good but largely extraneous. Thus one or two units as an elite rearguard to put your zombie horde in perspective is all you need. This suits me fine as a mass conversion will be a little bothersome and will allow armies to be built almost entirely from Army Boxes plus Enforcer/Samedi boxsets. What I am thinking of doing (I havent budgeted for buying any ONI yet, but its all planned ahead) is using spare UNA Steel Troopers from the Damocles boxset (I have a fair few) and replacing the heads with gas masked helmets from Pig Iron:

If you didnt mass buy Damocles boxsets in the firesale, or you cant spare any from a UNA list you can still buy UNA Steel Troopers from Miniatures market as bitz, near bottom of page linked:

http://www.miniaturemarket.com/at_43_bitz

This way your baseline figure is a Rackham product so you should be OK for tourneys and will be correctly based. All you need do now is convert up a heavy weapon, do a little painting, and you have ONI Korps UN. For ONI Korps TH you need a bit more work but dont bother trying to use Therian weapons, ONI uses Therian tech but manufacture differently.

ONI Korps TH

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

I am increasingly of the opinion GW likes to cover or fill everything with empty skulls as a subconscious way of saying; "look, no brains here".

I'll sit it out, I'm not interested in making my own.

Thanks for the wall of info, but I'm not looking to play any time soon.

Fair enough, you appreciated the help, thats the main thing.

I am holding back from buying any new AT-43 armies also.
