These panels just look awesome. Love the parchment and the skulls in particular.

Cheers for sharing what washes you used on what... I've recently purchased some and just trying to work out where to start in terms of colour combos

One of the best things I can suggest is get a bit of sprue/bits you aren't going to use and colour them up, apply washes in different colours and see what the result it. I did this for my bronze/purple wash and IMO it works really well.

Update: second set of panels started, didn't get through all of what I had wanted, but its still progress.

Your table top standard is great but it was really bugging me that the joints weren't done and things not edge highlighted but it's table top and I should stop being so picky

Can't wait to see this beast finished

@Nash - Long time no see mate, good to see you back. I agree I would have liked to do more, but being table top I was hard pressed for time as it stood. As Ice put it, having to paint down a standard was pretty hard for me to go with.

I'm interested to know how many hours a day and how many days a week you get to spend painting on average?

Love those completed panels, they look fantastic. Can't wait to see what you do with the turrets.

Hey Mad. Since I'm back to work I only get 55 minutes during a work day to paint (5 minutes scoffing my lunch) usually no painting after work or on the weekends (spending time with the little man) so in a week 275 minutes goes on to painting, there are some things I want to get through quicker (Aka the necrons I'm hoarding) so I'm looking at speed painting tutorials as well as simple paint schemes that still look good close up.

I don't go home for lunch, I pack up a case with paint and some models with a brush and do it at work

@Mad. - I actually have had comments from other 'geeks' at work about how cool the models are and that I must have amazing eyesight. usually I'll paint in an out of the way place near a window and good overhead lighting.

@Graven - Thanks mate, and yes sure are, small 2mm magnets though so not as powerful as I would like, but good enough for this behemoth!

Update: Rear turrets started, should be quick again, not much to do on them.

Update: Started the tank body now, home stretch! So base color, highlight and edge highlight were already added from last year, now started adding silver.... lots of silver

Oh, wow, tons of gorgeous goodies I see here.

As for blandness of the turrets... have you thought about making your own decals? Cobble some together on your 'puter, print on decal paper, spray varnish the page, use as normal decals. The possibilities are endless!

Cheers Meph, that is quite a good idea, Ii'll check into if I have the tools/materials for that (will need to see if a mate has a printer)

Update: more of the base colors laid down - Big model, very big model, I had thought I would be onto washing already, turns out I was wrong.

I'm also seeing blue. I think your camera or the lights you're using are turning your great grey into a mellow blue.

@Meph - Thanks, I was really hoping for better quality pictures as the lights in the office aren't natural lights, so everything is a little off hue.

@Miss Dee - Yep, I am as well, trust me though, its not blue in hand.

@Ice - Agreed, silly work lights not offering me a natural light option while I paint

@Miss Dee - Canon PowerShot SX130 IS I had a look at settings and I could try get the right ones for WIP pictures, but I have settings in there to help with the final pictures so I'm very hesitant to change them now.

The thing is you can change them back
