The point of a teaser is to show something but not the whole thing. That one shows nothing so is by definition pointless. The squigglies are teasers; this is not.

I'd be shocked if the Maghariba fit on a 40mm base. That thing is long and wide from the concept art. I don't know how it fits in the n3 size/profile classification thing though.

When is GenCon?

Because Angel doesn't do the models until something like five to six weeks before the "official" previews go up, and the Maghriba isn't one of the models listed for May.

No one hinted it would get released at GenCon, someone was reasoning that it might.

There is some speculation that it could be the Maghariba pilot, although AFAIK there hasn't been a pilot released on 40mm base (unless it's some kind of Bootleg-style mini diorama, some guy climbing out of an ejection podule etc.?)

Think one of the lead designers is a self-confessed big fan of a certain Manga..

Wont be Maggie, she is S8, which is definitely not a 40mm base, more like 70mm.

Could be a Muktair, those Al Medinat guys that (I quote) "make Ajax look like a slowed monkey" but I doubt it, new Haqq REMs?

Wasn't a Tohaa REM announced? Those colors could work for Tohaa, so that's probably what it is.

I think they look quite cool.. all of the Haqqislam remotes actually, especially the chicken-leg Rafiq and similar models (certainly have a distinctive, quirky look)

The poster I was replying to suggested it might be the Stingray. Never said that Aquila Guard is a 40mm base.

It was shown awhile ago, but has been likely been drudged back up since we're getting the first model this month.

GenCon is 30 July to 2 August this year.

FicZone is 2 May-3 May-- so basically in ~2 weeks. Last year, Bostria announced N3 there, so who knows what will be coming this year. Hopefully, whoever films his presentation-- assuming he gives one-- will have fully charged their camera battery this time.

Aquila has too much of a Space Marine vibe for my tastes. But then, I don't play NCA, so whatevs.

There wasn't any sarcasm intended.

It was simply a statement. The Stingray TAGs have been long in the works. They're not anywhere in sight though, as far as I have seen.

Maghariba Guard is reportedly so big it's getting a unique silhouette. It's not fitting on a 40mm base. I wouldn't be shocked if it didn't fit a 55mm well either.

We may be seeing an early release of one of the Caliphate super soldiers. They've mentioned 2 often - one the size of Ajax, and one that's as fast as a bike but isn't a bike. Either of those could be candidates for 40mm bases.

Yup, he's awesome. I think I have a thing for models with cool coats. I love the Nisse from Icestorm and the Grenzr with his little tailcoat too.

Appleseed awesomeness aside, coats on SF power armored figures are totes goofy.
