20p and 50p coins are pentagons. Probably a satanic reason for it.

Preview of the Premier (left) and "Scenic" (right) vehicles

"Scenic" style vehicles have a solid fill between wheels and on the underside of the car which enables easier casting and cheaper end product. "Premier" vehicles are cast traditionally in split or two-part molds leaving a gap under the vehicle and around wheels.

good idea making a cheaper scenery only version

I can barely tell any difference too, nice. I like their stuff, I'm getting the crashed cars they did for the Mars Attacks and may someday look into some of their detailing packs/vehicles.

ETA is July with shipping as soon as 3 months after end date. They seem to be waiting on some samples, final prices and approval from CB for some of the range

http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/news/forward-base-kickstarter-preliminary-data/

I don't see the vehicles on that list.

also a bit on costs

The saving varies (sometimes very significantly) with the type of vehicle, whether its a bigger individual car and so froth.

The Scenic Tucuxi Infinity car is £7.50, the Premiere is £10.50 http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/tucuxi-infinity.html

These little cars in these photos will be around £7.50 for three (3) whilst the premiere is around £5.50 each... that's a direct representation of the difference in production costs.

Hmm.. actually looking forward to this kickstarter. Plenty of great looking things coming for infinity Terrain.

I really want to get some scatter terrain, a couple of utility vehicles, at least one Dropship (if the Ariadna version is available) and the scout/landing pad tower. That is looking pretty sweet.

I can see getting several of the three car packs for my urban table. Add multiple taxis, and a lot of their other vehicles, and I'll suddenly have the traffic choked downtown that I've always wanted.

Nope. The dropships all got delayed to re-work them for the kickstarter.

The dropships are a bust, or so it seems. All we get is meaningless platitudes. I was so very pumped about them now, I don't know.

What do you mean by "meaningless platitudes"?

Jeb made it clear early on that right now we're seeing entirely redesigned dropships. That's not exactly something that goes by quick.

"Bust"? I would strongly argue that they are going to be better than ever as Antenocitis has clearly put a lot of work into them and looking at the online community forums where they update all their info they clealy lay out when they will be releasing them, and it is laid out very nicely. "Bust" is in stark contrast to all the info on this and other forums.

Antenociti is on the ball IMO.

They have some of the best castings I've seen in resin, if not the best.
Quick as lightning customer service.
Cutting edge designs.

I suspect they were overwhelmed by the sheer amount of Deadzone add-ons (Antenociti's involvement was a big incentive for me) and now the Infinity tie-ins. I'm sure there are cases but I didn't read one instance of Antenociti messing up their part of a Deadzone order.

I'd rather they took the time to 'do it right' than the typical rush job we see from just about everyone else.

If you have clients asking you do do things and are paying, you do it before you do your own stuff.

I believe he is referring to the seemingly endless delays since this thread was started and the dropship previews came out in 2012. If *all* you want from the company is the dropships and all you see is wave after wave of terrain tailor made for games you may or may not play, the dropships have in fact been a bust by the only metric that frankly counts... a purchasable product available to the public. Have there been significant changes both in the design and the route they're releasing them? Sure... but that doesn't help someone who wanted a dropship sometime remotely close to the previews in 2012. I'm sure they'll be nice in the end but if I were painting up an N7 themed scifi army that needed some cool dropships, I'd be annoyed if the ones that I wanted that were previewed two years ago *STILL* weren't out and likely would have long ago found another alternative. Even if the KS is this summer, the products likely won't see release until next year. If the ultimate goal is a dropship product, this series of models is a bust *SO FAR* almost two years down the line because they have nothing physical to sell.

It seems that AW is focusing on getting all the designs and everything but the production itself out of the way before the Kickstarter unlike many other projects out there. The delivery time past the planned launch of the campaigns is quite ambitious.

Delaying the start of the Kickstarters before taking money is much more honest and agreeable than the campaigns that delay multiple times after the campaign ends and they have your money.

But the delay in the kickstarter is beyond even Raging Heroes.

Ill just let that sink in.

Well this is pre-KS waiting so honestly I think that is hard to complain about (I mean people can complain about anything but...). They have show due diligence and it really seems once they start the KS then everything will be done and just waiting for production. I would rather wait forever for a KS to start and then know what I am getting a short while later then jump in totally blind and wait forever (such as the terrible delays seen in so many other KS). I mean even Raging Heros said they were "80%" done when they started. By the looks on the website/Infinity Forums, Antenocitis will be totally done with the models and the pre-production and just need to make the stuff.

Seems smart to get their ducks in a row, if their hypetrain loses steam and some people jump off before the kickstarter, and don't come back... that's a shame. Better to take that cautious road and a small hit than to take a large hit to their reputation by having large delays once people have already invested their funds.

The big difference being that Antenocitis Workshop announced plans to launch a Kickstarter, but didn't - due to a variety of reasons.

RH launched, ended and, no surprise, is late in shipping out product.

No RH teased their KS for ages, found they couldn't get a US bank account/shell company set up easily so made us wait many more months...

and then RH launched, ended and, no surprise, is late in shipping out product.

(but we love them anyway don't we )

The buildings are pre painted but the fancy resin parts still need paint, huh?

Its all very shiney, some of my minis..... most or all of them, are shabbier than this terrain, almost too nice for them, though when I paint it things would sumb down and level out.

I would assume that the pre-coloured resin will look OK with the pre-paint buildings. Otherwise, it would kind of defeat the purpose!

I mean I guess it gives you superior out if the box usability, but the colored resin bits in that picture look sad next to the well painted finished pieces, and only so so attached to the pre painted buildings.

All resin is precolored. This just happens to be colored something other than "blah grey" (the color of "professional" resin) or "puke yellow" (a color I've seen in some hobby kits..).

Yeah. I'm just wondering why they're selling buildings that look finished with resin parts that don't? If that's even the case.

Well.. let's just wait and see the finished article.. !

A new post on their FB page:

Non-sci-finews:

We're starting a modern line after we get back from holiday... so this should be in September, starting with some modern cars in the drop-cast "scenic" style, a range of pallet-ised goods and some street scatter (phone booths, newspaper dispensers and the like)
Katherine is also working on the fantasy products which, again, we'll hopefully start putting out in September. This will start with some tavern tables and chairs, benches, bookcases and the like, generally crafted from assembled Hirst-Arts pieces with additional elements added to them.
Then we are adding some of our original pieces into the mix, but they will combine to make a nice set of internal scatter scenery.
