Ooh wow! Please let us know if that does materialise on eBay! A friend badly wants me to upscale one, and I need one to look at first.

There are several others too for associated stuff.

Here's the playsheets, look at all the locations and gubbins you can power up or overcharge, I used to love playing this game, pity EPIC was so shockingly unbalanced. But it's a nice demonstration of how they used to not be afraid of detail and complication...

Well it's Friday! That means it is almost the weekend, and time to post up some cool old models.

Since the voting for the unofficial painting challenge has closed, I feel I can share these guys today:

(Advanced) Space Crusade has some great sculpts!

I actually really dig the Sergeant, the other two not so much.

Had to go into the archive for this one.
Various levels of oldschool crazy:

Oh please don't think I was being sarcastic, I really do like those sculpts, thats one of the reasons I finished painting them.

Oh man that Carnifex, or I should say Screamer-Killer... One of GWs best sculpts ever. So iconic and menacing it's crazy.

After some friendly banter between Pol and myself, I decided to stop being such a naughty dakkanaut and assemble a razorback that Gitsplitta kindly sent me. I have been so busy/swamped for a long time now, and nervous to create it.

I hope I did an okay job with it, and I hope it qualifies enough to go in this thread. Now I just need to figure out what colors to spray first, red or white. I think I should prime it black, then spray red, then on the masked areas spray white after masking off the red. Any tips?

What do you think of it so far? I'm mainly posting this to get an idea of what to paint where. I'm thinking the flat hatches will be white, with one of them having a chapter symbol. Same with the side doors and the turret. The rest would be red. I also want to put the whirlwind eagles on the doors, I know it's not a whirlwind but, it's probably my favorite Imperium Iconography. Lastly, I think I will try for a hazard stripe or this on the bumper unless there are other cool patterns from the era I could put on it?

Thoughts?

The Sons of Orar! I like to think of them as "cool," UM successors. Tyranid hating, red Ultramarine successors who wear beakie armor! (Though, that was their original interpretation from 'Eavy Metal.) The new direction is becoming more smurfy each day.

No truer sentiment was ever spoken, even its slit eyes looked baddass. No idea, why they just didnt scale it up for 3rd ed +

The new one fits the new aesthetic for sure. But........but.......

Definitely red overall then with with white door hatches and turret

Agreed on the upscaling. I am going to take a Maelstrom Edge Angel and make one.

That bastard fether can fething feth off!

I guess the first inkling I ever got that GW games weren't perfectly engineered paragons of balance was when I couldn't take my buddy's Imperator out with my Nids, even when list tailoring and using proxies.

Couldn't out shoot the bugger, and couldn't assault because he already put something nails in the legs to defend it, which with the bomuses they got made it nigh indestructible for 18 YO me.

Yes it is one of my experiments with my 3D printer, originally supposed to be an ice style base, but it ended up being used for the Killer and became purple goo and lime green floory-stuff.

Where were the sons of dorn in all this? I know the Crimson Fists and Imperial Fists were different back then but, it'd be nice to see the IF markings.

I guess they (painting guides for them,) don't exist though.

The painting guide came with the space marine paint set. There were 9? paints in it, so obviously they couldn’t do every chapter.

My Frostgrave rulebook arrived. So this guy is coming out of retirement. By rights I should repaint him - I improved somewhat over the past 25 years - but nostalgia says just tidy up the chips and leave him as is. Pity I don't have the one with a machine gun for his apprentice.
