right lads and lasses. if i make skink chief a battle standard and mount him on a stegadon what happens if ( old ones help me ) i break from combat. rules say remove standard bearer model. do i lose whole model or just chief.

Page 105, Ridden Monsters and special rules.
Basically, special rules to one do not apply to the other.

So the special rule for the BSB dying if he breaks, would only apply to the BSB portion of the combo.
Should the steggadon/BSB break, then the BSB is killed, and the steggadon runs off. If the BSB was the last crew, it would take a monster reaction test (without the BSB, as he's dead), and then break.
