The only chapters officially depicted as having facefuzz are the Spacewolves and the mustachioed White scars (Please correct me if wrong, i think 'saul tarvitz' mite have a beard but i'm not certain). Obviously this is a bit (read 'very') Fluff Nazi but if i see another bearded blood angel model i will off myself. Facial hair makes space marines look too human and aside from the more feral chapters beards should be the preserve of the rugged imperial guard. I am not even sure it is in the fluff TBH but i imagine the space marines either genetically have no body hair as it wastes hormones or that they ritualistically shave themselves, as is common with warrior cultures in history.

I have to agree, beards very rarely look good on space marines outside these two chapters, though I have seen the rare example.

I had an image of a marine with a LAME limp bizkit goatee thanks for jogging my memory. WAIT! The imperial fists are the third most likely to have facial hair due to their more human geneseed.

This beard hatred will not go unanswered. Althought I do not have any blood angles, I do have Angry Marines. I will beard one of them tonight, just for you. He shall henceforth be known as Ragebeard, who was so angry upon being told that he looked like a fresh faced scout that he spontaneously grew a beard.

It;s not a model, but I think it's a good argument for imperial fist beards.

Probably work

It's a shame I don't have any open helmet space marines, otherwise they'd totally get the Walrus now.

Facial hair isn't impossible, just because most of GW's depictions of SM tend to be bald and screaming they still are not commonly bald and there is a reason to wear a helmet ( dim that Sgt's voice down... ) so you can't know if he has a beard or not.

Ok, first aesthetic tastes does not = fluff. I agree somewhat about the beards being out of place on a pretty-boy bunch like the Blood Angels, but that's different fro, saying that they're the province of 'feral' Chapters. A lot of what you might see as a lack of facial-hair being based on SM genetics, it may well be an facet of the discipline inherent to life of a Marine, and that the...well, beardy...people we see have the clout to have a bit of self-expression.

OR it could be the people that do beards in the sculpting department went nuts after a good job through the Fantast ranges and put their foot down over marine heads.

Indeed. It's amazing how someone can be so mad for no reason, and so wrong, at the same time.
