I recently finished painting the first group of Wolves for my army renovation project I've been working on for the last two weeks. I was able to get them done for Dakkacon: Philadelphia and used them in the 500 point Mini-Campaign. Unfortunately the list I was able to build from them wasn't strong at all and they were rolled each game...New pieces to the army list are already in the works to make them much much stronger though! Anyway, here are the first few squads in what I hope will be a larger army!

Wolf Guard

Grey Hunters

Blood Claws

I hope you like them! If you're looking for more info on what I've been doing with them, check out my blog's Space Wolves Tag.

where am I? *looks around* Well i'm...errr...I...I...don't know!

Looking really slick there Grey. Inspirational as usual, have to say they are not quite as impressive as the Sons of Medusa, although these weren't given quite as much time were they?
They are still better than most of my stuff however

Nice! These are old school models only, aren't they? I wanted to build a 2nd edition SM force, but I never had enough patience...
And you're using one of my favorite models (which I never had the chance to buy - being too young ^^) - the Sarge with the master-crafted bolt pistol...

Really good work. More, please!

They turned out beautifully gd. Much more colorful than most of the drab grey space wolves I see... and of course the execution is flawless.

I posted an article on The Painting Corps about the Wolves and their colors/how I went about painting them for those interested. You can find it here

Imp Monkey, Thanks. They did indeed receive a lot less time on the table than my Sons of Medusa did, but that was by design. This army is entirely to 'scratch the itch' of inspiration . I am still planning more for them though in the same look established with this set of models.

Rogan, These are mostly old school models from 2nd Edition. The Blood Claws are the old 3rd Edition plastics, and you'll find additions to most models that are of newer kits, like arms or weapons.

Enjoyablenewt, Thanks . These models were a lot of fun for the most part. Some details were a little cludgy thanks to old school sculpting techniques used, but overall they were easy and fast to paint.

Flashman, I try

Theofilos, Thanks!

Very nice clean work. I especially like how the flesh tones and metals appear a bit cooler in color.

Another model for the army completed! This time around it's the beast himself, Ragnar Blackmane!

I started him to photo the progress of his armor for a tip while I was working on scouts, today rolled around and I ended up deciding to finish him instead of the scouts!

Oooo...a picture tutorial. That would be nice. I like how your armor is turning out and might have to borrow the color scheme for my Rune Priests.

Oh, and what bases are you planning on mounting your Fenrisian wolves on?

Here is a link to my SW armor method.

As to the bases for wolves, I'm really not sure. I hadn't actually considered changing the bases on the handful of wolves I have. So the square bases were going to be sticking around, but mostly because I wouldn't want to 'waste' my long round edged bases on them .
