Nice, I have high hopes for the Tron glow, it looks like it's going to complement this model very well.

@Cam - You and my both, I really love how the reds can get really dark and it doesn't take much to bring them up to the right levels, I am really happy with them so far

@Ckig - Thank you!

@Casey - Fingers crossed I don't over do it, there is a lot of recess lines that could cause it to look to tacky.

Update: more done to the Fireblade

Looks good to me. If you're worried about overdoing the Tron glow then make yourself some simple rules about what constitutes primary and secondary recesses. Then only primary recesses get the glow. If it works well you're friend might appreciate the rules for doing his troops.

Like the skintone and the red tones on the cloak.
Keep up the good work

@Casey - Good point well made, will look at minimizing it on the troops as well, to much will make it to OTT.

@Ayoku - Thank you! I wanted a nice dark skin tone to follow up with the darker overall look to the Fire Warriors.

Update: Fireblade done

Very nice job, mate, I adore that skin. Tau need a darker palette like this to root them in 40k. Though is it just me or are the pictures a bit on the dull side? Feels a touch on the fuzzy to me.

Re the Tron glow, to be clear, I like what you're doing with it now. So are you doing his troops too? I misunderstood, I thought it was just these two leaders you were doing for him.

Nice job on the model, the skin as mentioned by Casey's Law is fantastic. Personally I'd like to see the green "glowing" a bit brighter to contrast and stand out a bit more, but that's just me.

No wonder Tau are useless in assault. This is one of the leaders and he is using that knife completely wrong.... at least pull it out of the sheath, and maybe hold it by the handle you amateur.

@Casey - Chur! I suspect the photos are on the blurry side as the settings on the camera were reset to defaults I thought I had them all correct, seems I may have to play around with them a little bit more. RE: the troops I did up 3 in the tron style for him so that he has a base to work from when he starts painting them, I'm not doing all his models! I have my own armies to work on (GK, SM, Necron and some other bits thrown in)

@Mad - Thank you, I agree with the glow effect, I tried making it much lighter however the client liked it not as bright so I ended up having to tone them down. I could see this tau dropping the knife, hitting his foot, taking the wound and his squad running of the board

Update: Starting on my counts as predator now, base Grey and edge highlights done

That promises to be one very interesting Predator. Is that the turret from one of the many Marine flyers?

Ah I'm with yo on the troops thing now.

Now that is one heck of a pretty tank. Is it Forge World or something? Maybe a kitbash?

Yeah... what the heck IS that? Nice job on the Tau too BTW.

Looks like a kitbash of a Rhino, Land Raider, Leman Russ, and Storm Raven. Might end up looking kinda like a Sicaran.

Not where I should be

I have seen these type of things somewhere, this promises to look stunning. And IMO much more like a predator should, never really liked the idea of a upgraded APC for a battletank, this looks more purpose built.

The Tau looks brilliant, BTW, excellent job.

Mostly, on my phone.

Mostly looks like a back to front russ hull, sentinel power cells. Ravenwing stowage, rhino top hatch, storm raven turret, and can dread front plates. Nifty

@Edreynaline - Welcome to the Blog! Yes the turret has been re-purposed from my Stormraven as the Chapterhouse conversion kit doesn't use it.

@Casey - I took some inspiration from the Sicaran battletank from the 30k series from forgeworld

@Gits - Some might call it an abomination, some might say its a glorious offering to the mechanicum gods.

@Littletower - Welcome! Who can really say what is coming or going, I'd say its got a few gears in forwards aaaaaand reverse

@Dreadclaw69 - Welcome, Very good eye on you I think you picked up all the bits, Track assembly is from a Leman Russ, Turret is from Stormraven, guns are Heavy bolter sponsons from a predator kit, driver hatch is from a chaos rhino, there are dreadnaught parts as well as bits from unknown kits from the bits boxes.

@Camkierhi - You've made my day with that comment! It was what I was going for, I have two other predators already and really didn't think the re-purposed rhino made much sense, seeing as the landraider is a stand alone.

@Graven - Close on the hull, its all plastic card, when I got the tracks there wasn't the top bits so I had to make do, you got all the other bits though! Did you see one of the parchment scraps is from a term shoulder set you gave me last year?

Update; not much to show, spent the lunch time doing silver, took ages and didn't seem to do much to the model.

Thank you very much. I'm looking forward to seeing this joining the rest of your Chapter, the conversion certainly is inspired

@Casey - You can say that again, remember how many WIP's there was of the Felblade... I'm not looking forward to doing the drop pod to be honest, that promises to be quite bland.

@Dreadclaw69 - Let me know what it inspires you to make, I'd be keen to see

Update: more colours! Sometimes an hour really isn't enough to do what I want.

@Littletower - Inch by inch I guess, still having lots to look at is what I really like posting

@Dreadclaw69 - Seems like a good deal to me, I managed to get some DA characters in a trade, they are of course already painted in my DA army though.

@Casey - Imagine what I could do in a day?

@Ayoku - Thank you

Update: More done, this may or may not include washing and some work on raising some colours up already

Starting to come together nicely.

Due to a recent failure washing a tank body I'll be paying particular attention to what you do in the coming days

Ouch, I saw what had happened to your tank, I do exactly the same thing you've done when I used to paint in the old way (Without an airbrush) basically to fix the wash colour, you need to re-apply all the armour panels again, leaving the wash in the recesses.

Update: More done
