Hi there!

I've seen the ForgeWorld's nurgle blight drones and their rules. They seem to be nice, and I am thinking on including one or two in my CSM army, but I would like someone to tell me if they worth it or not. Another thing about them: what do "fast skimmer" and "daemonic" mean about them? I thought that meant they are fast gravitic with daemonic possesion (wich would be logical I think), but I may be wrong.

Thank you very much! ^^

Well, Fast Skimmers are defined in the main rulebook. However, "Daemonic" isn't defined anywhere I can see (I checked the CSM and Daemon books too). I think it's safe to assume it means it ignores Shaken and Stunned, and keeps its current BS.

I've got to run, so I'll break down why I don't like the thing later.

Well then, but could you explain me what do fast skimmers do? XD I'm spanish and my rulebook is in spanish :S

Also, what did you want to mean in your last sentence?

Sorry for the missunderstanding! :(

Oh, no problem. Skimmer is a vehicle type that lets it hover over terrain. Fast is another vehicle type that represents vehicles faster than standard battle tanks: you can move up to 6" without impairing how many weapons you can fire, fire a single weapon when moving up to 12" and move up to 18" without firing a weapon. The combination of both Fast and Skimmer lets it move a further 6" (for a total of 24"), giving it a 4+ cover save if it moved at least 18". Now, there are several other rules that Fast Skimmers have, but those are the most important ones; if you've got the rulebook, you'll find them yourself.

In my last sentence I meant I didn't have time to explain why I don't like the drones, but I would later.

The issue I have with Blight Drones in a CSM army is that the chasis doesn't help the weapons. The best Fast Skimmers deliver powerful, close ranged weapons, or assault squads, into the fray. The Blight Drones just lack any big punch, largely due to their (in)accuracy. While the Vomit attack on a Fast Skimmer is strong anti-infantry, it isn't worth 125 points. In order to get your money's worth you've got to make effective use of its other weapons. The Reaper Autocannon really suffers because of BS2. While the Phlegm attack is fantastic against infantry, it lacks the Ordnance rule so performs poorly against vehicles.

The Blight Drone is fast and strong against infantry. However that has little synergy with the CSM codex. Everything in the book is already strong against infantry, and nothing is as fast as the Blight Drones. So the Blight Drones have to reign in their speed so they can hit the enemy alongside the rest of the army. (You never want units attacking piecemeal unless they are expendable, and at 125 points Blight Drones are anything but.)

I see, thank you for the explanation! Yes, they're too expensive for what they do, but in the other hand, they are very fast. As I don't have any fast attack units on my army, I think I will get two of them (one isn't enough and more than two are too expensive).

I have 3 of them.I like them if you need fast attack but I dont like the BS2 either..

For the points you could take a vindicator or for 10 more points take a predator but those are heavy support but the BS4 on the vindicator is nice for the points.

For the money you could run 2 defilers or 3 defilers and have some serious firepower with good range , power against vehicles and ignores shaken and stun results..
