So...snotlings don't cause panic in goblin units. They're also stubborn. And now, they can be stubborn and take the general's Ld. So, my question is: do you guys think that a decent number of snotling swarms would be a decent tar-pit in a goblin army?

I'll have to wait for the new rules to judge that, but they usually go down pretty quick because of their less-than-great stats and point-for-point they haven't really been worth it with the current book. I don't think they changed a whole thought if I remember what I've read from the threads on the new book correctly.
We shall see how it all goes in the weeks after March 5th, though.

In 7th ed I would take 4 units of 2 bases. CHeapest spam deployment available for O&G.
Deploy 2 units on each flank then the rest of your army.
Or I would use them as ITP redirecters in the middle of the army.
Just run them ahead and get in the way of the enemy.
I'd even get the odd flank charge off with them.
In one 2500 point tourney 1 unit of 2 snotlings on flank charge killed - unit 7 swordsmasters, khorne daemon chariot with herald, 6 flesh hounds.
Of course now enemies can turn the facing so that will be much harder to do.

They may loook good, but generally are too expensive for what you get.
20 points gives you 3 wounds of T2. It's just not worth it, Better take 6 gobbos of 1W T3 each

8th Ed snotlings are swarms, and ergo unbreakable (and thus, dead by end of round one).
New Snotlings have more wounds per base, essentially being 16% cheaper per wound. Still not really worth it, though.
