My FLGS is having a 1500 point tourney about a month from now, so it's time for me to start planning out for first tourney! I picked Kan Wall since I'm fielding units I like and how viable the list is, and spending the least amount of $$ possible. I have no idea what the meta is like, so I'm assuming that I will be coming across a lot of mech lists as that's what is most popular in this edition.

It looks pretty solid in my opinion. For 1500 points you can't really fit in any upgrades for the Big Mek which is a shame and I feel a third Deffkopta would have been awesome for the list.

Rokkit kans are great but I woud recommend switching one squad to big shootas.

The big shootas are still effective against speeders, trukks, raiders. Most importantly, it frees up 30 pts. Dopr 2 boys and that gives you 42 - enough to but a min grot squad.

Your list is great but your troops will be rushing forward, leaving any objective in you deployment zone unclaimed. For 40 pts you get an onjective holder.

Now that I look at it, your list is 1480. Drop 1 squad to big shootas, add the grots, don't drop any boys, and ad heavy armor to each big mek.

You could get away with running a single mek with KFF. That could allow you to max out your boys squads.

Keep the rokkits on the kans I think. Like you said, you are going to see a lot of vehicles. You can't have enough rokkits.

The grots is a good idea too.

Now that I think about it you may need the 2 KFF's.

Pretty solid. I would personally make your boyz Shootas, but if you're more comfortable with the choppy orks, so be it. It's just that in a Kan wall, orks shooting twice each from behind cover up to 18" away, then possibly assaulting for another 3 attacks each is a far better tradeoff than the more than likely amount of hits you'll get with the choppas. In the end it could end up being the same exact amount of attacks, if your choppy orks are within 12" during one shooting phase. I think your chances of producing maximum amounts of attacks are higher with shoota orks. I think choppy orks work best in a transport, and shoota orks work best on foot.

I would also consider reducing your boyz squads by about 3 each to make room for another squad of 10 grots + herd. They are really really nice for holding objectives in your backfield. I usually keep them in reserve to reduce the chances of them getting obliterated through shooting. Delayed entry is what you want with these guys so they can move in 6", and hopefully run another 6" putting them in close enough range to your objective.

Ok, so how's this look? I only have 1 unit of 22 Shoota Boyz as I really prefer Slugga Boyz.

I would drop the Rokkits on the Koptas in favor of Cyborking the Meks, but that's a minority opinion.

I personally would never do this. I'd much sooner remove 4 boyz for 2 cyborks than drop TL S 8 ap 3 24" weapons. Orks need all the AT they can get IMO. Think of how much you'd be crippling your Kopta's chances of busting open armor on an alpha strike (or any strike really....sitting 24" away coming in from an outflank and not being able to shoot the rokkits? Horrible in my opinion...you can get your big shootas much easier elsewhere...ie your boyz).

Great list ran it nearly identical for years I do agree with whoever said running shootas instead of choppas on foot is the way to go. Getting that many shoota's is another story though so stick with what you have for now. Be careful with the kopta's they are easily tied up. In my escalation league at 500 where only 1 foc for each role, heavy elite fast, was allowed I had an opponent take a squad of 3 deffkopta's as he only had the AoBR set to start with. I made them flee t1 with scouts, albeit they were dropped by a storm and the sgt had a pw I only won by 1 but that's a 4 leadership check lol.

i would bump up the shoota boyz to 30 so you could have 3 bigshootas. koptaz with bigshootas have done a number on some off my opponents before (including myself) though they obviously lack the heavy punch of rokkitz...
