Here's a suit I painted up today. I was experimenting with some new highlighting techniques... nothing fancy. I painted the suit in Tau Sept Ochre, the highlighted progressively with a 50%/50% Tau Sept Ochre/Bubonic Brown, then Bubonic Brown, then 50/50 Bubonic Brown/Bleached Bone and finally straight Bleached Bone. I'm planning on adding more battle damage like the one spot on the front of the chest. I added the greyscale pic because someone once told me you can tell if your highlights are right if you look at the pic in greyscale.

Little do I ever see crisis suits around, but it's great to see such an awesomely painted suit added to the showcase.

There really is nothing to criticize but one small detail. The lens don't really "pop", try adding a brighter tint of red on them in the gem effect style.

Nice painting, but the pose is extremely static. If you want to go for a walking pose with a crisis suit, you have to reposition the knee joints some.

Very nice, pose could use some work, but good overall.

Lol... I inherited this model from a guy who wanted to quit playing Tau. It was already assembled and painted horribly. A Simple Green bath, some serious filing and some new wargear later, he was ready to paint. I don't really like the pose either. I sort of imagine he's just standing there surveying the carnage his fusion blasters have caused!

Also... good call on the lenses... I forget to do that and will tomorrow during my painting time!
