Getting a far better feel for guard now so trying to edge more towards what I like then what is effective. I had been running power blobs, melta mech vets and russes and been doing welll at the FLGS. But isn't totally the feel I am looking for and as good as mech vets are...I just hate transports. But what I do like is Russes and power blobs. Both are a very solid troops choice and heavy choice. So I thought I would try out all that I do like..while dropping what I don't.

Droppings melta vets I was going to need to make up for there lose with other anti tank. The ussual players at my FLGS hardly ever use AV 14. So I went with the cheaper missile launchers over lascannons. I like them and they are in general my preferred all purpose weapon.

I know the squad of 2 russes will clearly be the better shot over the other 2 single tanks but my plan is to have them make use of the best cover for them while the 2 single ones be more mobile..plus if they take a good hit and only lose one tank..then it will revert to not being in a squad and not have to worry about those rules.

So C&C away.

oh and I know I have 40 left over points but not sure what to do with them as of yet.

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

Carapace on CCS? They don't have a transport, so some sort of armor upgrade might do some good.

If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.

I have always just parked my CCS in cover to they ussually always get a 4+ cover...If something is going on the deny them that cover...they are prolly guy die anyways even with 4+ armor.

I think for the last 40 points I will throw in 4 melta guns on the power squads.. Reading Ailaros batrep he seems to have done well with em so I may try that out.

To get it up to 1500, I'd start by upping all those missile launchers to lascannons in your officer squads. After that, some hull lascannons on the russes wouldn't hurt.

Hmm had not thought of that and I like the lascannon idea.

Instead of putting a few LCs on the LRBT I could instead drop 2 of them and put in demo tanks..I do lose some range but in return I get 2 nice siege cannons. Str10 ap2 large blast always come in handy..and aswell would address my lack of ap2. So I could also deal with TEQs better as well.

I do drop the MoO in doing this but I had put that in there more for its fun then useful.

So now things look like this.

Which I think I like this allot more and looks to be a more solid list..and still 25 points left over. Which I may spend on giving the 2 siege tanks dozer blades. Which will help with there short range..Since they can then just B line it threw terrain and not have to stick to the clear paths.
