Very striking. Has a bit of a turquoise-in-matrix feel to it, which suits it rather well.

White glue and baking soda. Gave the first layer a blue tint using P3 blue ink, which gives it a bit of a cooler look (rather subtle, not really visible in this photo). As a side note, make sure to seal it well. Baking soda can yellow if it's impure or exposed to air for too long.

Is PVA glue a good enough sealant?

Considering the stuff's a mix of PVA and baking soda in the first place, likely not. Get some matte sealant.
