Gorkamorka?

At that rate, why not ask for a re-release of Bommas Over Da Sulfa Riva?

Or Dark Future?

Or Dracula?

Or Dark Eldar?

...

-- Craftworld Tian-Bing (9,500 pts Eldar)
-- Ragnarok 1st "Einherjar" (5,500 pts IG)
-- Knights Sovereign (5,000 pts SM)
-- Pale Templars (2,500 pts CSM)
-- Ordo Lucifer (2,000 pts =I=)
-- Solland's Ghosts (4,500 pts DoW) -- R.I.P.

Gorkamorka.

Enjoy.

That one has been thrown out there already a few weeks ago in the other thread

Whatever it is, it will be an actual game. That part has pretty much been confirmed by the letter GW sent out to employees, telling them to prepare for demo games, as has been posted earlier in this thread. So everyone who still thinks it will be one model like a Deathstrike... that is not going to be it.

I'm not familiar with all the old games they had:

- Space Hulk
- Gorkamorka
- Warhammer Quest
- Trolls in the pantry

... ?

I'm also still trying to figure out how they could fit the old Space Hulk content + enough (plastic) terrain into a 90,- Euro box and have it all be good quality. Normally those Terminators & Genestealers alone would be 90,-, and I refuse to believe GW will give us an actual bargain like that until I see it in from of me. This is probably the reason I'm still a bit sceptical about it being Space Hulk.

My 2 cents..

: Its a stand alone game that most likely will be compatable with current miniature range.
: Its been said several times that it isnt space hulk
: Its set in the 40k verse.
: Its something they have already done in the past.

............
Make sense to me as being a logical canadate.

Yes those are definitely bargains, but I kind of view those as exceptions because they are the starter boxes meant to lure more victims into their web

Why would they do us a favor by temporarily giving us a great deal when they have nothing to gain by it in the future?

It's been said several times that it is Space Hulk.

How do we reconcile this? We can't, that's what. So we just wait and see until someone manages to leak it before GW reveals it.

What do you mean? Space Hulk was plenty of people's first intro into 40K the first two times, why would this time be necessarily any different?

I'm not sure a GW source has actually ever said it's 40K related.

So with rumors of it being a "new" game, who wants to take bets on GW not supporting for more than a year?

If the models aren't compatible with any other systems, GW will axe it in a year because of it. Relegating it to the defunct Specialist Games... (or as we call it, where the fun goes to die). If the models are compatible with one of the primary game systems, GW will axe it because it will either: A) be a cheaper and better source of miniatures which they will decide to fold into the core systems with recut and significantly marked up sprues; B) the models are redundant to models GW can get a better markup on.

Not quite sure how they are doing it yet. I've heard at times that you can pre-order off their website. Other rumors have been only actual GW stores. I was told that I would be able to get them for my independent game stores. (And no hints were given about what it is, just that I'll be able to get the 'mystery box'. Guess we'll know in a week.

Ussualy the independ store around here would be clueless about this, then customers like myself bug them to get the box... they spend a couple weeks digesting the thing... decide to call GW... tell us its ordered and should get at the store soon... one month later customers start to bug again about the box that doesnt arrive... they digest and a couple weeks later call GW... GW says they never aggreed to send the box in thefirst place and its a online store thing exclusive ( besides at this time its already out of stock)... and finally store tells customers they cant get the box because GW doest sent them.

Sorry for rant but even if it seems a parody its in fact a major pain in the ass and has cost me deals like apoc armies etc in the past, so even if GW makes this available I doubt I will get it since the limited time deals means a big no no around here.

Was it available for only a limited period back then? I don't even know which year Space Hulk was originally released and when they dropped it.

If it really is that limited this time around most of the boxes will probably be bought by current players, so I don't know about it being useful as an intro for new players.

Looking on the bright side, if the mystery box isnt Space Hulk that means we get whatever the mystery box is as well as Space Hulk as its def being released!

Somewhere in an empty conference room in the bowels of GW HQ, the marketing intern that came up with this whole mystery box idea is cackling to himself with maniacal glee.

Maybe it's going to be a Space Hulkesque style boardgame, except instead of BAs vs. Genestealers on a space hulk, maybe it will be Tau vs. Tyranids onboard a hiveship, similar to Tyranid attack, or Dark Eldar raiding a Necron world engine for ancient technology.

That's true, but SMs is their bread-and-butter... if it's going to be Space Hulk, you've got to figure that Marines are going to be in there..

The GW employee who claimed to have actually seen the product in China said it isn't Space Hulk as well.

If it does turn out to be Space Hulk I will rub their lying in their faces though.

It's not Space Hulk.

It's a game called Hulks in Space. It comes with 10 Space Infantry and 20 Chromosome Thieves, as well as a full set of Space Corridors and Industrial Towers.

Hm, do you know where I could just get some Space Corridors and Industrial Towers? I don't really want Space Infantry or Chromosome Thieves.......

And so, due to rising costs of maintaining the Golden Throne, the Emperor's finest accountants spoke to the Demigurg. A deal was forged in blood and extensive paperwork for a sub-prime mortgage with a 5/1 ARM on the Imperial Palace. And lo, in the following years the housing market did tumble and the rate skyrocketed leaving the Emperor's coffers bare. A dark time has begun for the Imperium, the tithes can not keep up with the balloon payments and the Imperial Palace and its contents, including the Golden Throne, have fallen into foreclosure. With an impending auction on the horizon mankind holds its breath as it waits to see who will gain possession of the corpse-god and thus, the fate of humanity......

I guess that it's always a possibility. GW may simply have decided that Terminators in the required quantity was too good of a deal. Giving us standard marines maybe their alternative.

It was the game that homogenised and bland-i-fied Orks. After Gorkamorka all Orks begame 'Generic Goffs'.

Rules that differentiated the basic factions more. Vehicle Rules that made sense. A clear difference from the then fairly-well supported Necromunda game. The only thing GorkaMorka had going for it was the list of Glyphs and orky words at the end of "Da Uvver Book" Digganob might have improved it, I don't know. My group never bothered with it. But why did they make it Gorkas vs. Morkas when they already had fluff for the main Klans. Goffs vs. Blood Axes vs. Deathskulls vs. Snakebites vs. Evil Sunz vs. Bad Moons had so much more potential.

Presumably, Klans would be the obvious add-on expansion if Gorkamorka didn't suck.

Potentially, GW printed the entire batch, and is only now releasing it...

Wicked. Not much of a gamer with them either, but they're a pretty big group. A buddy of mine and I both work at the Gamestop up on Broad next to Walmart and we both play down at Hobbytown now. We ran into them there.
