As stated previously, the camo looks great. Everyone looks good and go well enough together. I notice some nice lenses, and the new nomad symbol is very solid. I may have to try one on my Moran.

As always, excellent atmospheric shots. I'm gonna have to study these and the others as I try to improve my own camera work.

Inspirational as usual, keep them coming!

Very nice work Barzam, looking forward to them getting dipped. And like Grimdork said, the shots in and around terrain really add a lot to the pictures.

I like the mining suit - is that a Hasslefree model?

Your Woodland camo test model worked out well. Look like some of your Haqqislam have a nice 6-colour desert camo going as well.

Thanks. Yeah, the mining suit is a Hasslefree Grymn Power Armor. I'm definitely going to have to get more of those.

6 color camo? I wish. the Al Waziri are just sporting Choco-Chip pattern and the Ahl Fassed just have brown squiggles. Everyone else is just tan and green. I wish I had the skill to pull off some of those more complex patterns.

I'm enjoying your P.O.V. shots. Very dynamic. ANd a nice change of pace from what everybody else is doing.

Glad you guys are enjoying the shots. They're much more fun to take than the regular pics.

I think I may've come down with Bronchitis this week. I've had a horrible cough for over a week now and it's been very unpleasant. Plus I've been playing Dark Souls with my cousin, so not a whole lot of painting has been getting done and I haven't really had the desire to paint, either. I'm going to visit the doctor tomorrow, so hopefully I'll be able to get something to treat it.

That being said, I have done a little bit of work. Mostly fantasy stuff. I've got some Rackham figures to paint up. Mostly a Wolfen and an elf command squad. Unfortunately, those were not without issue. The actual elf officer figure was missing and instead I just had a double of one of the other figures. To make matters worse, the elf figures are super thin and incredibly easy to break. Hell, I'm lucky if I can even get them to hold together. The Wolfen's issue is that his casting just isn't very good. A lot of the details, especially on his back are very muddy. It just didn't turn out all that well back there. I did the best I could with what I had though. He's a big, heavy figure, too.

You can see it somewhat here in this pic (I had another and it didn't come out well at all), but he's got metallic purple and gold armor. It looks pretty good in person. It just doesn't photograph very well.

And I bought this Warmachine figure that I like. He reminds me of an Axe Knight or something out of Castlevania.

Pretty sweet. Elf armor and skeleton especially look good. Werewolf seems fine too.

Finally went to the doctor yesterday. Had it confirmed, I do have Bronchitis. Fun stuff. There's nothing quite like being unable to lay down without coughing non stop. Thankfully the medication I got is taking care of it pretty quickly.

Oh, and I got some stuff in the mail. While unfortunately none of it is Infinity, it is some Weird War II stuff and some sci-fi stuff, so it'll be fun to mess with regardless.

I did get a few figures finished up tonight. These will be off to get dipped this weekend since I've got a pretty good batch ready to go now.

First up is this Urban War Gladiatrix.

She doesn't look all that good without any shading. Except that there actually is shading on her. None of it showed up in the photo though. Eh, she'll look better after getting dipped. This figure though, let me tell you, she was a pain in the ass. I had to sculpt her left arm and the shoulder armor. I'm not good at sculpting. I couldn't get any replacements and I didn't want a one-armed Gladiator, so I had to do it myself. I did not enjoy it. Still, I'd like to have a Gladiator themed warband to fight Tamburlaine. I need to get some non-human gladiators. Maybe a gorilla or two.

And I finally got around to painting these guys yesterday. I've had them since December. Just sitting around. The guy on the right is the only one that's been done. It'll be nice to have the rest finally done. I forsee them having a lot of encounters with the undead.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So yeah, I checked out the stuff I got from FRP. They'd had some of the "Valonian" infantry figures from Rebel Minis, which were their versions of the Skinnies from Mongoose's Startship Troopers line. I had thought these guys were going to be thin, weedy little Infinity sized figures. Good lord was I ever wrong. They're HUGE! They look like they could tear a Morat in half! I swear they look like they're actually 1/35 scale rather than 28mm. Why did nobody tell me they were so big!?

Man, those hazmat guys are probably my favorite thing you've painted to date. I have no idea why, but the way they're posed and the bright colors just look like a ton of fun. It might be that the suits work really with ze dip too.

Where are those models from?

I'm surprised that the Hazmat team are going over so well. The models are from Hasslefree. There's two sets of four guys and then two individual guys, one with a flamethrower and one with a Geiger Counter.

I've got set A with the loose flamethrower guy. They're really nice miniatures and they're all one piece, too, so that makes working with them a bit easier.

Don't forget the guy with the laptop apparently for comms. Hasslefree has some cool stuff, I need to order some sets of guns from them sometime.

Yeah, I totally forgot about laptop guy. My Hazmat crew will probably get their dipping this coming weekend.

This past weekend though, I did about half of the guys int eh queue. It was mostly the guys with darker and non-earth tone colors schemes. They got the Tudor dip. Among them, I finally got my Blue Bomber Charontid dipped. He's finally all finished.

I think he turned out looking pretty bad ass.

Tonight I got started on my third Al-Waziri and breezed through her painting. I wanted to get her finished before I dipped the rest of the queue. It's probably going to be a while before I get my fourth Al-Waziri and Mobile Brigada stand-in.

I just have her right arm and backpack to do now. Note that for her, I placed her Nomad insignia on her left bicep. I can't quite decide which figure to use as the fourth. The new kneeling guy with the HK-416 might not be bad, but then I was also thinking of having a second guy with a G-36. And then there's headgear to decide upon. Helmet? Hat? Ballcap? Boonie hat? Tough choices.

And of course, obligatory action shot using something new.

I think I need to rearrange the table a bit. This setup is starting to look stale.

Awesome I feel bad for that mecha, charontids mean srs bidness. Also, blue bomber and al waziri both look good.

Nice work on the Charontid. They are a PITA to play against too :( But they do die to HMG fire...eventually.

Go with the helmet.

So Charontids can be a bit of a pain to fight, eh? Is the just because their Plasma shots explode on contact, or do they just have touch armor?

"Occasionally" I get some bad hobby ADD and I find myself buying some odd things. Like those Skinnies I bought, or these Germans. Yeah, for some reason I really wanted to buy some Weird War 2 Germans, so I grabbed a few that were on sale at FRP. I got a One Man Army figure from Blackball Games' AE WWII line and a pair of Secrets of the Third Reich's Mech Grenadiers with "Packed LMGs," whatever those are. Actually, pretty much every figure I had in that order had some kind of molding issue. The SOTR Germans had some kind of white film over them, The One Man Army had some serious issues with flash, the Skinnies didn't exactly have the cleanest of castings either, and the Mercs FCC Liaison (I got one of those, too) had the whole inside of his right arm and gun miscast. Last night was fun trying to clean all of that up. I did find time to paint though. I present to you, a pair of Germans!

I'm actually really happy with this guy, but I'm going to change his helmet color. The green doesn't look so good. I'll probably change it to match his jacket.

This guy has a huge head! He's okay though, sculpt-wise. I was trying to paint some German woodland camo on his jacket, but I'm not please with how it turned out at all. He's taking a bath in the Simple Green right now. I'll try again on him later tonight.

I do prefer the first German's coloring. Second one still seems to have camp though.

Plasma does seem nasty. He can also take a sepsitisor or whatever you call it, mind control or other nasty business. Fairly tough and several variants have the best multi spectral visor which ruins units who depend on camo or mimetism/optical disruption devices to keep from getting hit. My guess, red probably knows better though.

In no particular order:

MSV3
Plasma rifle
2 wounds and V:3 no wound incapacitation
oh, and ARM 5.

Charontids are more like mini-TAGs than HI. And with a BTS -6 very hard to hack.

Bottom guy is missing his abdomen, or so it looks. And wow, monster feet.

Well, that's heroic proportions for you. Although, I don't think theirs are nearly as bad as GW's. He does have an abdomen, it's just hidden by his gun.

It sounds to me like I'm going to need to have a Charontid in my CA list no matter what.

He'll be your order sponge. They cost some degree of 80 points, so almost a third of even the larger normal battle size. The nilla CA starter (which includes one) is a steal in terms of how many points you get for the 6 guys in it.

I want to see your skinnies with some familiar figures to get a sense of scale. Maybe put a tape measure in the picture to help me get a better idea of how tall they are...

Have them join your gladiators.

What ruleset will we be using for said skirmish?

You also never told me if you want that extra wet nurse. I think Dakka wants to see you paint up a wet nurse!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Those Skinnies are kind of tall.

I'm not sure I want to have a painted Wet Nurse. I'll take one off your hands though, I suppose.

We need to sit down and figure out how to actually play Flying Lead one of these days. I'd like to use some of this stuff sometime. Or just play a larger point SBH.

Is that skinny wearing armor? Can you get a shot of him from the side? Looks like he's wearing an Eldar helmet or something.

Guess I can just see it in person in a few days.

Yep, all five of them are wearing armor, though one of them has a different suit from the rest and two have their helmets open.

Here's a turnaround

The casting is a little rough in places on them. On this guy in particular, his back, his gun, and the collar on his armor are kind of rough.

And I mentioned that they're a fair bit bigger than Morats.

Look at how big the Valonian's hands are compared to the Morat's head!

Also did some more work on my Germans. They're all now done.

Redid the One Man Army's helmet in German Grey and did the two LMG guys in standard uniforms. It's basic and plain, but that's fine.

Next time my ADD brings me towards historicals, I'll have to try and grab some more AE WWII figures. Their Germans in general look a lot better than the West Wind figures.

Germans are looking good, and wow that other guy is pretty large. If he makes a morat look like that... he's some kind of scary.

Those skinnies are different than the norm at least.

I think you should stick with finding weird figures like that to paint up. I enjoy it.

His paint scheme looks really familiar, but I just can't place it. Spiral Zone maybe?
