Orclings paint up fast, as there is literally almost nothing to them.

Now showing The Fellowship of the Ring, along with some Dreadball Captains!

Painting total as of 4/13/2024: 31 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain

Painting total for 2023: 79 plus 28 Battlemechs and a Dragon-Balrog

That's what I said... but then there are 48 of them out there and painting around the details is obnoxious at best.

Wales: Where the Men are Men and the sheep are Scared.

Waiting for some new Varnish as I now have a distrust of the army painter can I have. So I am working on a Yakuza bonus team. My goal is one Skirmish figure or Survivor and 9 Zombies, since I have basically finished my 9 zombies (Varnish not withstanding). I have deviced instead of one Skirmish Figure goal this month I am going to try and entire team of Yakuza for fist full of Kung Fu.

I can only speak for myself, but with only four or five poses, I found it easy to get into The Zone and just paint them in block colors and slap a glaze on them. I suspect you'll blaze through them.

I am struggling to get any progress. But I will, I just find it hard until that deadline gets close. The Sedition Wars plague things (what are they?) look grotesquely awesome.

Got my RBG brutes done, but when I applied Vallejo's Matt Varnish to them it's dried a bit shiny. I think I probably didn't shake the bottle for long enough or something. A bit disappointing. Anyone else had this happen? If I shake it a lot and then reapply, do you reckon it'll take the shine off?

Real shame because I was super excited by the models and pretty happy with my paint job on them. Honestly, varnish gives me so many problems!

I've done the next bunch of Corsairs and will take some hopefully better photos in a while - when the wash has dried.

Better pictures on my Sword and Board Corsairs, and then my RBG Norse who as mentioned are too shiny from the varnish, and lastly the Spear Corsairs.

24 out of 40 models done!

Great, thanks. Good to have that confirmed before I go slopping more varnish on them! I guess a double coat will do them no harm at all.

I have slowed down a lot this month due to one thing and another. I have also gotten the first coursework of the semester on Friday, marking the start of coursework season and significantly reduced free time.

I have got some stuff done though.

'Ork' Boyz, I really should paint their teeth but that way lies madness

Next step towards the goal - two Descent Ogres to act as Ogre Brutes or the Ogre PC from the Dungeon journal. Fun, retro-styled minis to paint. 26 out of 40 done! (I need a good head start on myself because my mid term is over now and I'll have a lot less free time for painting from now til the end of the month!)

@Azazelx - you are certainly Productive this month!!!

@Puffin - amazingly detailed job, my eyes would have crossed permanently after doing those!

@Thraxas - those are cool minis, looking forward to the finished products

@Da Boss, I never got into Decent, but those are really cool figures and a brilliant job of getting them painted up , I'll have to take another look at the clearance items that they have at Miniaturemarket as they had 4 boxes of decent minis for expansions on the shelf on friday.

Cheers lads.

Theo - the descent minis are great in my opinion, and they paint up really nicely. Practically indestructible too which is perfect for gaming pieces that I'm going to be lugging from location to location.

One of the sets (Guardians of Deephall) has noticeably lower mini quality than the others though. The others are all really nice.
