Hey guys, I was wondering what the ruling would be when shooting at a war machine with a template weapon. It seems alittle fuzzy with crew not really counting anymore, but if i put say a breath weapon over a canon, would the crew be hit on their toughness or would it all be against the machines? Also how many hits would be inflicted?

Unless the template weapon is somehow designated a close combat attack, then it is a ranged attack. Ranged attacks vs. warmachines are always resolved against the warmachine's toughness.

So it would just be one hit on the machine's toughness?

Yes, it would be one hit vs the machine's toughness.

I suggest you don't believe anything posted by thedarkavenger unless confirmed by other regular posters here at Dakka. He has shown he is incapable of basic English comprehension.

The crew are essentially markers for the number of wounds, until you're in closwe combat.
