I'm tired of painting desert camo guardsmen, so decided to cut loose and have a bit of fun!
I don't like the current psyker models, and I have this old RT era mini from years ago. Athough it's not very well molded it has bags of character so I thought 'sod it' and painted it up as best as I can as an HQ for my guard guys. The coat is actually shaded with an airbrushed, I hope you like it

I love that model. Great conversion to represent the psychic aura from his Force Rod. Basic but completely effective. He will stand out from the rest of your army for sure, as well he should.

As do I! That blue is almost unreal. The contrast between the pinks and blues is crucial, as well, in making this paintjob so striking. Great job!

First off, that mini is so full of character. I tracked it down off of eBay a few years ago because I liked it so much. Secondly, that paintjob is killer. The saturated blue and pink really makes this such a unique scheme. The strong primary colors with a dash of subdued green is perfect.

Im really impressed with that, i used to love that figure too.
The blue on the cloak looks really good and goes with the pink so well.

That, is a work of art.

But, for clarification, what you have there is one of the 3ed Primaris Psyker models - probably dates around 2001-2002, so they're not RT by any standards.

Ah, so he's 3rd edition eh? I bow to the superior knowledge of my fellow dakkaites and stand corrected! It's still a much better model than the current psyker ones though!

Thanks for all the feedback, I think I'm going to be painting more minis with the airbrush, I could never have blended the colours on the robes that well by traditional brush.

Extremely striking and neat. I bought this very model for my Praetorian IG, and you've given me some good ideas about what I do (and don't) want to do. The blue looks great, and goes very well with the gold trim. I hadn't thought about going with a white beard (for some reason, I pictured him with a natty black one), but it looks very good, and I might consider that.

I'm not a fan of the white force weapon, but it is very well done. Given that my Praetorians are red with blue and gold highlights, this suggests to me that stealing your blue robes and gold highlights, and going with red for the force weapon would be a nice way to tie my Pysker into the army, while still keeping him distinct.
