The FB page has more changes that he's made to it, including the start of a dual ranged/melee weapon.

The skirt is split into 3 parts according to Mark, to allow for great range of motion of the legs. We're giving feedback for the Shadokesh over there. Feel free to chime in!

Oooh, I'm loving the Shadokesh preview! It's humanoid but very alien and predatory at the same time. Looking forward to seeing what it looks like posed and armed, and looking forward to buying myself boxes and boxes of Shadokesh in future

The older kickstarter design works better IMHO. It's more lithe and sinister than this newer, chunkier version.

Spoiler:

Head looks to be more bulbous and the rounded off plates at the back really change the entire feel of the face. If you do stick with these design changes you definitely need legs like the KS mini.

Keep in mind, that is a preliminary workup.

Mark has already started changing the arms to look more alien (bicep/forearm lengths), and the feet will be changed to something different than hoofed, but will retain the reverse knee look.

Liking the idea that theey are alien to the point that they do not have to be 6ft tall But can be 8-10ft tall. I mean they made it work in 300 when Xerxes was with Leonidas. (In real life he was a normal sized man).

Outsider question here: What is the status of the Shadokesh? Are we talking about years before they hit retail, or sooner? Will there be another KS campaign to fund their army, or was that already handled in the first KS?

I missed the KS campaign, but I'm very interested in these aliens.

Due to the delays and the way that effects releases, I doubt I will hold onto these for a KS, My plan as it stands is to complete the game while releasing units via the normal supply chain on a more regular basis. At some point I hope to have a few extra kits ready to go, in addition to the normal releases. If I am going to KS the Shadokesh. it will likely be with the release of the fully illustrated/published game.

Any resemblance of this post to written English is purely coincidental.

Medium of Death,

I just see that as the fact that the KS exclusive is a female - narrower waist, thinner arms, smaller head - with a feral, and the 'new' look is a male.

Or maybe Mark is going to be completely amazing and give us something that we have not had before. Maybe the Shadokesh are a completely 'unisex' species. The Feral in the KS exclusive is in fact a juvenile, the handler is an adolescent - and therefore a female - and the new render is the final stage of their development, a male adult warrior.

Or maybe it's just that the KS exclusive is just a model and will now not really look like anything in the army, it's still a great model. Although I am less likely to go big on a Shadokesh army if they are just like the new renders than if there are either a reasonable mix, or a lot more like the KS exclusive. It just looks more 'alien' (without that being a reference to a film) than the new one - which looks more like the sort of alien seen on 60's and 70's TV Sci-Fi to me.

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." Take it or leave it, but for some reason extra arms mean extra dread. Its a little late to rework things but 4 arms of the shadows might make them pretty scary. The more alien you make things look the more fear they induce.

^^^^^ This. Extra appendages certainly bring about dread or revulsion.
They do already have vestigial wing nubs on the back though. Maybe over time the wings migrated from the sides farther back on the torso's.

Any ways, I'm sure Mark is working up some ways to make the Shadokesh a little more imposing and alien looking.

Would be cool if the shadokesh had genetically engineered or different casts that had extra arms or instead wings.

With GK codex on the possible horizon, 15 mm Leviathan arms would be lovely. ....

Expect a sale on the 15mm Levis, but no arms till whenever this stuff ships (2015). Why? 'cos China says no.

I have to eat my words, I was really quite certain that WGF would have released all six of the new AWI sets by GenCon- not to mention the Dreamforge releases. The factory must have a bad bottleneck somewhere and it seems to be affecting everyone.

I hope they can get all the Dreamforge stuff done prior to Chinese New Year (which seems to come around all too quickly...).

They've been releasing the AWI kits about once per month, right? Continental infantry came out in July and British infantry in June? BTW my buddy got them, they are absolutely beautiful. Nearly truescale - as in, they fit in with Perry and pretty well with Fife & Drum - and tons and tons of detail and a billion extra bits.

Well from what we can see on the Wyrd release thread, they have been cranking out Malifaux Wave 2, that's about, what 16 sprues right there?

Excuse the mercenary interjection, but if anyone wants an extra Ada and Shadokesh from the KS, I have one of each going for £10 plus postage for the pair. PM if interested

Looks like a 25% Gencon discount again on the DFG webshop. Yeah Aza, Mark said he'd update when he had something to update. If you're right and it's next year... ; p

edit: Also a 25% discount across the Wargames Factory webstore again. Last year I picked up some DFG and some Ashigaru, WGF have some nice ranges. Int'l shipping still a **** though!

I think it's a pretty safe bet at this stage that Wave 3 will be 2015. Probably not before CNY, either.

China actually has been deliberately bottlenecking shipments and using the "If you were based over here it would be better" card.

I agree that Wargames Factory may have caused some delay's, but i wonder if that is the whole truth.
