For those of you that haven't heard of the Battle at Blobs Park GT it's great and the title says it all. This is an annual tournament put on by the Inner Circle Gaming Club in Maryland. The tournament is held in an indoor/outdoor German Beer garden with fresh bbq and loads of sodas and German beers. This is an absolute blast for a tournament we had approx 100 people last year and we're expecting capacity again this year. We are giving away full armies to the winners of each game system and LOTS and LOTS more prizes.

This year is going to be AWESOME!!! We have Warhammer 40k, Warhammer Fantasy, Flames of War and WARMACHINE tournaments! What's cooler than that? How about every time you win a game you get a free beer or soda!! We are giving away over $5,000.00 in prizes, YES I said $5,000.00!! Are we CRAZY?? YES!!! CRAZY FOR BADASS TOURNAMENTS FULL OF PRIZES AND FREE DRINKS!!! For those of you that didn't make it last year the food at Blobs Park is really good, we've got fresh BBQ, chips, soda, three kinds of beer, cookies, and tons more! Drinks are affordable (just in case you don't win all your games). We're doing a movie and poker night after the tournament. There is FREE CAMPING available for those looking for a place to crash after the action. And for those of you wondering... YES YOU CAN EVEN BYOB!!! Don't wait to register - There will be limited space for each tournament.

Check out www.innercirclegamingclub.com for tournament details and registration, or email innercirclegamingclub@gmail.com with questions.

You can also click on the link below to download a copy of the flier. http://www.innercirclegamingclub.com/uploads/Battle_at_Blobs_Park_Tournament.pdf

Thanks and we'll see you there!!

Some basic questions not on the flyer:

* On the Fantasy Battle side, what sort of comp/restrictions are you using, if any?

* Are painted armies a requirement?

* Is there any sort of prize for sportsmanship, painting, player's choice, ect, or is it all battle?

* What's your battle point scoring system for WFB? Is it win/loss, or am I going to have to worry about margins of victory also?

* Are you using the rulebook scenarios, specifically watchtower, or are you using custom scenarios (and if they are going to be available online or what not)?

Basically, I'm trying to figure out which army I'm going bring, and also if I should bother gathering up my buddy to come down with me (he's got a very neat army and is way more into the social aspect of the game anymore, so all battle all the time would be a dealbreaker)

Lincoln, I looked at the flier, clicked on the signup now link and nothing popped up.

I know in the past you guys had a way to sign up using paypal etc...will that be done again?

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.

Tournament sign ups are on the website www.innercirclegamingclub.com - click the fiery banner, or check out the forums. Payment is done via PayPal or at the door day of the tournament. Fully painted armies are required for every tournament. There will be a few comp criteria for fantasy that will be posted in the players packet as we get closer to the tournament date. Nothing out of the ordinary though... No Teclis, Thorek, Masque, or Kairos Fateweaver allowed. Book of Hoeth will require the casting value be met, power scroll will require casting value be met, etc... If you have any other questions let me know. Website, forum and sign ups should be up and pretty straight forward. Yes we will be giving sportsmanship awards as well as a best general award for each army. There will be a lot of fluff, and tough players in the pack. Anyone who likes the hobby should come, and those who just love the fluff will have a blast and will likely walk away with prizes also. Remember $5,000.00 in prizes!! PM me or post here if you need additional help.

Players packet should be posted soon. We are putting the final touches on the scenarios now.

FYI - we are also looking at the possibility of running a Bizarre Bizarre since the Bunker is closed and there hasn't been one in the area for awhile. The Bizarre would open from 7am and go throughout the day , there willll be NO sellers fee, however Players in the tournament will only be selling prior to the tournament (7am-9am), during lunch (11:45-12:45), and after the tournament has finished (10:15PM +).

Here is the link directly to registration - http://www.innercirclegamingclub.com/BLOBS.html

I am definitely planning to register and come to this! Somehow I missed it last year, but I'll be there this time. I know a lot of guys who game at DreamWizards who are thinking of going for warmachine, but I'll be sticking to fantasy until I get more experienced with that.

Have you guys decided on the point level for fantasy? I need to get a few more things converted and painted up, and it'd be nice to have a clear goal in mind of what I need to finish

I just paid up!

Will use this as a deadline to get the rest of my army painted... although I have 2800 with what I have now, there's some things I can add to make it more competitive... and hopefully do a bit better this time

I will be there, though I must say that schedule is brutal. Luckily, I have an extra day prior and following to get rest at my old high school buddy's house. Wife is actually flying out with me this time, though I have to figure out how to transport my Greater Daemon safely on the plane, still. The East Coast fantasy scene is a different beast from compy southern cali, but I am looking forward to mixing it up.

You've got that right . There won't be many "compy" armies at this event, from what I can tell!

I'm looking forward to it too, though- it's always fun to try facing the meanest things out there and seeing if you can come out in one piece, or even on top.

I'm also glad the Fateweaver/Masque/Teclis/Thorek are excluded... so that the same boring old lists don't show up and dominate. I saw a Teclis vs. Teclis matchup and you know, it's novel the first time, but it gets old!

Was just reading the player packet and realized that this is "closed lists", but we're to bring 6 copies and reveal any mundane equipment asked about. So I guess no trading army lists before the game, only after, then?

I had a fantastic time! My best experience at a tournament yet . Thanks to the Inner Circle guys for running it, Mike Clark from Showcase Comics for helping out with everything and providing tons of terrain, the Mechanican guys for providing a ton of terrain, and the massive amounts of prizes. Everyone I played against won something and I had 4 very enjoyable games!

However, BYOC (bring your own chair) should be like, laid out in the rules or something. I feel totally beat! Or maybe a bunch of folding chairs could be rented for the day. Standing up for most of what turned out to be a 16 hour day hurts a lot!

Time for some sleep and then I'll post up some pics hopefully others have some, too, there were some sweet armies and the venue was classic.
