So during the week I met a guy who just moved to the area; he was looking to get a game in to break in hjis new home. I agreed to play 2500 and he was eager to face Blood Angels as he'd never faced em. So, he brought up his stuff and we threw down some dice. Heres the lists:

We roll off and I win the roll to go first and decide to take it.

Deployment
I deploy centrally, Baals flanking ravens. I deploy all my speeders to the left as they're gonna boost behind that middle hill. I place 1 squad in the ruins there with a priest, the other 2 squads (1 w/ priest) will come in deep strike.

My opponent deploys with all his speeders blocked up on my right. All 3 preds are centered aiming for the ravens. He places 1 combat squad in the crater in the middle, and combat squads in the ruins with his plasma; placing the cannon at the tippy top. Lysander and co are hidden out of LoS behind the ruins as is his rhino with a 5 man squad.

Both baals scout up 18" getting LoS on his combat squad in the middle and speeders on the right respectively. I pop smoke just in case.



He rolls to seize and gets a 1; doh!

Blood Angels Turn 1
My left baal scoots back a little, keeping out of 12" of his MM and keeping his plasma on my front as best as possible. My right baal lines up perfect LOS on his MM speeders. Both ravens get up in his grill. My speeders boost behind the hill on my left. My AM's decide runnings better than a bunch of DT tests and gets a 5! woot, quick!

In shooting my left baal kills 1 marine in the crater, my left raven immobilizes one of his las preds, and my right raven shakes his other las pred, and on my right my baal pred on that end does exceptionally well; 2 pens and a glance! I wreck 2 speeders and blow the MM off the third... imagine that! go baal!

Crimson Fists Turn 1
Both his ironclad pods come in, one plopping behind my right raven and the other in my bottom left corner, right behind my AM's. His shaken pred moves 12" and pops smoke. His remaining speeder turbos trying to run, and his AC speeders get side shots on my baal on my right. His rhino comes from hiding, moves 12", and his dudes get out to blast my speeders with bolter doom. Lysander and crew need to go AROUND the ruins now because his immobile predator is blocking a path out toward my raven lol

In shooting he does the following:
- 12 AC shots at side armor on my right baal results in 1 pen which... shakes it.
- He shoots a ton at my right raven but I cover it all.
- He wrecks my left raven with his still usable pred. I pass pinning
- He smokes 4 marines from plasma/dual flamer doom.
- A LOT of shooting at my speeders results in... nothing. I cover save it all

Bad turn for him; he got 1 KP from ALL his shootin.

End of turn thoughts
So my termis are out... with 2 preds that didn't move in front of them. easy KP's! I'll get meph out to take care of his middile ironclad, my furioso will deal with that MM crew in the middle. My ravens gonna try and snipe some speeders and take out that predator thats running. On my backfield, I think 5 meltas should take care of that ironclad even with cover! That running speeder will get mowed down by my remaining baal while my other one hides for now. Game on!

Blood Angels Turn 2
Both squads of reserves stay off. Meph gets out to unleash fury! My raven scoots up 6" and takes aim at his speeders and pred. My termis move up for a charge. My speeders and AM's in my rear move to melta the hell out of his ironclad; I lose 1 marine to DT (4 were still inside the ruin when I jumped). My baal shuffles to snipe his running speeder.

In shooting I do some pretty sick stuff:
- So, get this... my remaining raven POTMS his MM into the pred... he fails cover and it blows up. Then, I shoot 4 AC shots and 4 bloodstikes into his speeders... all hit, 3 missiles pen, 2 AC's glance. So he puts 2 pens on 1 speeder, 1glance/pen on the other, and 1 glance on the third. First one wrecks. Second one, immobilized (so wrecks)... third one; a 6! So wrecked because its a squadron still! BAM! Thats twice my ravens dominated two vehicle units in 1 turn lol!
- 5 meltas result in 1 weapon off his ironclad :(
- My last baal wrecks the running speeder with 1 glance lol

In assault Meph pens his ironclad 5 times and... I tear off an arm, immobilize, and stun the hell out of it. It swings back and misses, so we lock. My termis/libby charge his preds. I wreck the las one, and stun the other one about 4 times and tear off its AC. My priest, in the meantime, had split off to try and charge his 4 man combat squad solo and comes up 1/2" short... damn. I choose not to charge his other ironclad, though I probably should have.

Blood Angels 4 - Crimson Fists 1

Crimson Fists Turn 2
His last pod comes in, landing right behind my speeders. His 5 man squad piles in their rhino and move 6". His terminators move to charge mine over his wrecked pred. His ironclad shuffles to charge me.

In shooting he kills 1 speeder and a few marines. He also puts a LOT of wounds on my termis, of which all my 3++'s block his plasma bwahaha! His multi-melta insta-gibs my priest :(

In assault his termis make it into mine. I kill 1 termi and he kills my LC. When the TH's come, I manage 1 wound on his libby and a few on his TH's... the libby is insta-gibbed, woot! He also loses 1 more term. He does 7 (count em) TH wounds... of which I only fail 2! He loses by 1 and stays due to stubborn. He charges his ironclad into my marines, killing the priest. I whiff and stay locked. Meph tears the other ironclads last arm off and beats him with it, but it STILL WON'T DIE (it has no arms, is immobile, and stunned to hell and back)

End of Turn thoughts
So I need to kill that MM squad in the middle, I can't risk getting my furioso blasted by it. My speeders and the squad on my bottom left are pretty much boned; 15 tac marines and I'm tied up with a dread. Not looking good. My termis are also boned; lysanders gonna eat my soul. At least he doesn't have his hood anymore!

Blood Angels Turn 3
Both squads come in, landing behind the middle building. My speeders shuffle to get some melta shots/flamer shots on the tac pod on my left. My baals move to shoot whatever they can. I get my furioso out to charge his middle combat squad. My raven moves to finish off the gutted predator.

In shooting I wreck his last predator and one of his pods. Nothing much else... kill a few marines

In assault mephy finishes off his damn ironclad, I lose all my terminators but my librarian holds on, the ironclad/marine fight drags on, me losing 1 more. My furioso molests his MM squad in the middle.

Blood Angels 8 - Crimson Fists 4

Crimson Fists turn 3
He pretty much just moves up his last rhino and drops off the squad. Nothing else really to move.

Shooting he wrecks all my speeders.... blehhh

In assault my libby finally dies; he has Lysander and 2 termis left. They go toward my Furioso! I glance his ironclad and he kills a marine... its like 5 against his ironclad now lol

End of Turn Thoughts
Things are looking good; I'll focus the raven and baals on pod duty, meph and my furioso SHOULD be able to take down the rest of the termis and then finish lysander, I'll charge into both his tac squads... which should just leave all the dudes in the ruins!

Blood Angels Turn 4
Meph rolls an 11... damnit. So he moves 6" away from the terminators, not wanting to tempt fate. I move up 20 AM's to charge his two tacs. Baals shuffle for pod duty + to shoot his rhino.

Shooting I fail with my raven and one baal to do anything to his pods... my other baal wrecks his rhino. Meph runs 6".

In assault I charge in 10 AM's (priest is nearby) into his two tacs... I manage like 10 wounds. He fails 3. He swings back. I fail all my FNP rolls and lose 3 guys... ok, so I swing my PF. I kill 1... he swings back, his two PF's kill 3 guys! UGH! I'm down to 4 guys and they stick it out :( My furioso also fails his charge on lysander and his terms. Ironclad knocks down 1 more marine but I hold.

Everythings in CC pretty much so we go to shooting.

He doesn't really do much with his shooting haha....

In assault Lysander and his terms hit my Furioso, tearing an arm off him. I did like 4 wounds and his terms pass them all :/ Ironclad whiffs and I pen it... but roll a 1. STUPID THING! lol. My AM's in combat with his tacs is whittled down to just my PF sergeant, who holds on... reinforcements!

End of turn thoughts
Pretty much my only hope is to kill his pods and remaining tacs to cement a win. Meph can't bail out my furioso now; hes on his own. The way my squads are rolling... they'll be lucky to live!

Blood Angels Turn 5
Meph rolls 11 again... ugh! He moves 6" and a good fleet should put him into B2B with the 3 man tac squad. My other 10 man moves up to help out. My baals/raven shuffle to shoot pods again for a second turn.

Shooting I wreck both remaining pods.

In assault meph and my 10 man squad manage to kill the 3 man squad and knock his large squad to 3 guys. He is now out of b2b with my lone sergeant, so swings and kills 2 guys from my new squad. He rolls and I catch him! With fearless saves his last 3 guys die. My furioso in the meantime gets a break; lysander whiffs all his attacks and the terms fail to hurt him! My furioso wounds both times and 1 terms bites it. He rolls his leadership... 11!!!!!!! Lysander books it 7", just enough to put him off the board. His ironclad kills 1 more guy, leaving me with 3 marines, and I roll 12 for ld... they book it off the board.

At this point its over, he has no way to come back from this so we play it out. I manage to wreck his ironclad; he kills the 1 man sergeant squad. Nothing much else as he only has 2 combat squads left in a bolstered ruin!

VICTORY FOR THE BLOOD ANGELS!!!!!

End of game thoughts
My opponent was a swell dude and definitely open to advice. After the game we sat and talked tactics for a while and I pointed out a lot of errors he made; I told him he probably should have castled and forced me into engaging lysander. He agreed; Lysanders a friggin beast and with all those termis I'd have a hard time taking him without a couple units going in. As well, I told him triple las preds and AC's on speeders are suppppper expensive. Afterward we made up a 2500 pt list together that looked like:

And he still has 45 pts to spare. Now, we don't know if it'll work (i'm still iffy with the wording), but, if it does, heres the idea:
- He creates a huge firebase using his ML combat squads, pred, and TFC in a bolstered ruin. Lysander and his huge death star chill here
- He bolsters a ruin by an objective and places his scouts for the 2+ cover.
- His rhinos just create a wall and go wherever
- When people go to take the objective the scouts are on, or if they get close, he gates over. The beacon allows him to hit without a scatter; meaning his termis are accurate and hit where and when he needs them.

Now, thats all dependent if it works or not. Also, I warned him, Vindicators would be a huge pain. However, many opponents would be super iffy attacking an objective protected by some stubborn TH/SS termis with a libby and lysander in tow!
