Thanks for teaching me the basics of Infinity Gorilla had a lot of fun. Malifaux was also very enjoyable particularly when Misaki went on a killing spree.

Dark Heresy next week. I'm still hoping to be able to introduce the Radicals Handbook to the game with this new campaign but it depends on how fast/slow Maesltrom are in getting it to me along with the infinity templates.

Yeah, its £2.50 for the night, and you can stay for the Warcraft tournament after if you want? Theres plenty of decks to lend if you want to play.

Also, as long as I can make it this week, I will bring it along and see if anyone wants to play on monday.

Does anyone want to play the Gears of War game this Monday?

Dwarfs!!!!!!!!

Nope Dwarfs really aren't my style I do like to have a magic phase (what can I say my Dark Elves spoilt me magic wise) so instead I've gone for WoC army based around Marauders devoted to Nurgle:

Heroes (243pts):

Chaos Sorcerer: 105pts
Level 1, Lore of Nurgle, Mark of Nurgle

Exalted Hero: 138pts
Great weapon, Mark of Nurgle

Core (618pts):

Chaos Marauders: 194pts

24x Chaos Marauder, Marauder Chieftain, Musician, Standard Bearer, Mark of Nurgle, Light Armour, Shields

Chaos Marauders: 194pts
24x Chaos Marauder, Marauder Chieftain, Musician, Standard Bearer, Mark of Nurgle, Light Armour, Shields

Marauder Horsemen: 230pts
10x Marauder, Marauder Chieftain, Musician, Standard Bearer, Mark of Nurgle, Shields, Spears, Throwing axes

Special (135pts):

Trolls: 135pts
3x Troll

Not a great list but I really didn't want to run a single Wizard/General and a Chaos Lord/Wizard Lord at this level is overkill (and very poorly equiped) so two cheap and cheerful heroes was the way to go IMO even if they aren't that survivable (MoN aside). The two Marauder blocks give me a decent battle line with the Horsemen filling a harrassment or flank charge role. Trolls are just there cos they're cool. I'll have to keep them close to the Exalted Hero though if they're to be of any use.

I suspect this army will perform better once I go to a higher points limit and actually give my characters some equipment.

Oh and get more Trolls of course.

Nice nurgle themed list nick, i can see its going to be hard to kill at higher points levels. Are you taking festus to fit in with the fluffy theme by any chance and have you brough the nurgle sorcer model yet because i have that model in new condition being unused that i would sell you for £5. also trolls are very fluffy for nurgle and i like them a lot.

Are we still up for that 2500 point game tomorrow gorilla, I shall have to be proxing daemonettes for bloodletters though up until christmas, me and my father cleared out hobbycrafts stock of bloodletters today, 25% off coupons really help!

2500 points of Iron Hands!
5000 points of Skaven
2000 points of Daemons of Chaos

Adding to the Daemons and Iron Hands ATM!

Thanks for the offer but I have already bought everything in that list including the sorcerer.

As for Festus and other special characters, I'm in two minds about them. If they fit the theme of my army then yes I would consider using them (eg Festus, Throgg and Wulfik to a lesser extent) but at the same time I really don't like using special character in my army I'd much rather use regular characters and write background for them. Having siad that however Throgg or a counts as Throgg (with my own background etc) will almost certainly appear in the army at some point simply to keep the trolls (abnd other monsters) in line. Having the general babysit them all game really won't be a good thing in the long run and a Troll with high(ish) leadership is a useful thing indeed.

EDIT: BTW I will have my old Magic decks with me. Found them over the weekend.

Sitting on the roof of my house with a shotgun, and a six pack of beers

Well I had a load of fun with Dark Heresey last night, really feel like i'm geting more into the swing of it, quite excited about the next one. Although I am horrified that we now have a dirty mutant/chaos creature in our group.

Also just looked at the new Beastmen releases and I must say they do nothing for me. So I think it's official WHFB isn't for me. So if anyone in the group in intersted I'm going to sell my beastmen, let me know otherwise i'll open it up to the general public.

I'm looking forward to it too, the campaign will really get going next time. You've just had the small little intro.

BTW my Nurgle army has arrived, might have it built by next week if anyone wants a 1000pt game.

Sorry matey, not me.

I've just downloaded the necromunda and Inquistor rules, thought I'd give a once over.

I kinda figured that.

Shame you're giving up WHFB as I've been meaning to give you a game for some time. However if you're really not enjoying it I can certainly understand why you wouldn't want to continue.

Necromunda is pretty good can't really comment on Inquisitor beyend the fact that it's more of a RPG than a wargame right down to having a GM control everything.

TBH I'd recommend that you take a look at Infinity and Malifaux (atleast try each of them out I'm sure that those of us who play them would happily give you a quick demo) as they really are excellent skirmish games and don't have the narrative campaign issue that Necromunda has.

It's not that i'm really not enjoying it so much as it just doesn't grab me. I could keep playing but I feel it's stopping me from doing stuff I want to do.

I sit down to paint and think i can't paint this until I paint my beastmen, but I never really bring myself to do it so end up not painting anything. I was sort of forced into fantasy rather than drawn to it so never had the same love as I have for my guard.

I am tempted, will probably do infinity if I do, Pan Ocenana (spelling) probably. However I don't have a lot of spare time or cash at the moment so if I play a skirmish style game it will probably be kill team or something like necromunda.

Like the sound of Imunda, but if i'm honest I don't really know anything about it, but it sound v fluffy and you know me I'm a narrative fluff whore.
