or they can do the sensible thing and just stop stocking GW products.

sure, they'll lose a ton of customers, but then they wont be overwhelmed with orders anymore and can actually deliver the orders they take and also not get 200 calls every week and 10 different banks trying to get their money back

yeah, figures...I was surprised TWG still stock GW products after GW had stopped trading with them almost a month ago.

Your best bet is to get in contact with your bank ASAP. Then you'll have to wait a couple weeks to actually receive your money.

TW is probably sitting there with a huge amount of money owed to distributors and quickly running out of credit and excuses. So they are probably hoping that if they can keep trading and keep taking money that they can pay back their debts and get back onto steady ground. The problem is that this tactic is slow and often doesn't work and if it does or doesn't it nearly always results in very slow turnaround times because they need new orders to pay for stock to fulfil the old orders.

GW cutting trade means that they are either taking orders they now know they can't ever honour or they are buying stock off a middle party (and likely not a distributor) which will mean even more cost for them, less profit margin (remembering that they already have steep discount) and thus even slower potential recovery.

Couple that to increased bad press and reduced trade and unless they have a huge shake-up I'll be surprised if they can survive

I'd agree with that on general principle, but would it surprise you to learn that this thread will shortly be celebrating it's second birthday, and we still have people "giving them a chance" and still have people discovering the thread after an order was placed?

Looks like the end times are upon us.

Unless it's just a glitch, the add to cart option appears to have disappeared from the site.

This could be a major red flag - anyone with any product or money owing probably needs to take action, like, today.

They also seem to have everything listed at full RRP, no discount, so either they're having a major reshuffle or this is the end for them.

I've started a thread in N+R to try and reach as many possible customers as we can.

Well sod it anyway, juat found this post about total wargamer.

You sir should get on to you bank/credit card company and instigate a charge back immediately.

While taking time to change their website could be seen as a good sign that they intend to continue I would suggest an investor or debtor would get the gitters and start winding up procedures.

They still have Orks as "pre order"

Not a good sign if they're just updating things.

If it were a store update I'd have expected them to update the stores code offline and then update the code in one go online so that downtime for order processing was minimum.

Recieved a message from them saying "we've stopped taking orders" nothing we didn't already know, but I think it's clearly a bad sign.

Or an irrelevant sign for most of us

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

In the sense that it all looked so promising when it began, what a shame.

And a shame that another gaming store has gone, although this one was very out of the way (so useless for a local club, other than for the very low population catchment area) and difficult to find unless you went there purposefully.

The last time I was in the store, it had un-changed stock from perhaps 6 months before - I guessed at that point this was probably the way it was going to go.

Would be interesting to see what began the downward spiral..

Horrid customer service, slow deliver even when they were doing well, and a shop in a bad place which was not nice to go it. When I went in it felt like I was intruding as the people playing at the tables stopped you being able to browse and the guy at the counter ignored me and just sat painting the whole time. It felt like someone was a hobbyist first and the shop was an annoyance to pay for a gaming club.

I kinda feel happy about myself now.

I placed a HUGE order last september (like 15 boxed sets) for a total of 200+ pounds and after much delay I got all my shizz by mid November.

In hindsight I benefited from a company that soon ceased trading altogether and still got that spanking 30% discount.

Just thought i'd post on here to let everyone know that the Total wargamer company was dissolved on 10th June 2014. Have a look on Companies House.

They screwed me over with not sending my order after paying for it, so i'm just trying to get my money back through my credit card company. They're still emailing me as though they are trying to sort out my refund still, which is annoying.

That came up in the other thread in News and Rumours, it is unclear whether the TWG Ltd company is the actual organisation operating the business or not, it may well have been formed in order to bookmark the name, for a project that never took off or a variety of other reasons.

It is still possible that the company/individual operating Total Wargamer is still trading, despite the LLC being dissolved.

Has anyone been down to the store to see if it is closed?

Nothing at all on the FB page, either way..

Its local to me and i know someone that works the store front (nothing to do with the on line side), He said the store is staying open but are retreating from miniatures market.

The website will be phased out and they are no longer taking orders, hence the inability to add to cart.

Those that do go the store will still be able to game as they are keeping the tables set up, and think they will still sell stuff in store.

Got my refund for the outstanding GW stuff i had on order anyway, so i can't complain to much.

I was told by a memeber of staff that they were going back to basics as the online business did not go as planned.
He said they are dishing out a lot of refunds at the moment too.

Everything I am told by them is very ambiguous to say the least.

Ravyon & manrogue, can I ask did you get a chance to look in the store?

Did they have much stock in there? Last time I was there it was pretty much the same as had been there 6 months before (with the exception of some new Mantic stuff), a thin layer of dust over a lot of it.

Sounds like they might be trying to drop all merchandise and fix their outstanding orders via refund. Could be that they've gathered up enough bad complaints that they are being looked into so they are cleaning house in the hope that they can clean up the store side of things and yet still keep a local business running.

Far better than going into administration in many ways; even if they do end up with a bank loan to cover their current debts (at least one single loan can be easier to manage and pay off than lots of disgruntled customers). Especially the case if they've not set their business up right and the owners personally liable for things.
