Wow! I just read through this entire blog--it's fantastic. It's great to see you developing a whole (playable, though I know that's not your focus) force, and seeing all the units together was awesome. The C'Tan conversion centerpiece is ridiculously impressive. I know I sound like a lame fanboy right now, but I am struggling to not do so.
Anyway, I love the variety that you have in the force so far--I think the robes and tracks are a great thread at this point. I liked the hooded possibility for the Ogre conversion head, though the finished version is great, especially with the new paintjob. Having that light skintone on the board with so much metal really adds a bright spot to the board display, too. Skaven bodies, Ghouls, Ogres, C'Tan--it's fantastic to see so much variety put together, not to mention all the other conversions and interesting bits you've pulled into the project.
I'm excited to see it continue--thanks for sharing it.

Thanks guys.
A small painting update seems in order. I like these better and better as the painting progresses, my initial doubt that they would look too necron is luckily gone.

looking at the crotch armor... I would try to heat bend them a bit...just a tad...
looks very good...tho now the brass is not as strong anymore as it was before...
what colour will you choose for the eyelenses and so on? if you avoid now green the necron associations will fade totally I think...

Thanks a lot ViK. Correct the brass fades a bit once the red is added, but ends up looking fine afterall. I like the black and brass a lot though, and I'm planning on having a magus in black armour.
I'll almost avoid the green, most of my minis have green cables which adds a good contrast - and I think these will have them too. I'm planning on blue lenses.
Alright the red is done - very hard to photograph though.

Have been working on some detailing, and had planned to paint hazard stripes on the powercords of the Fabricator Gauntlets - but as I'm also planning on blue plasma with OSL on the coils there I'm pretty sure it would be way too busy, and look like a kindergarten accident. So instead the plan is to paint those grey and move the hazard stripes to the cord connecting the robot and the gun. Thoughts?

I really like the hazard stripes in both instances, though I hear you about not wanting it to look too busy if you add the blue. So, given that, I like the second version, with the stripes on the back. The added color is really taking them up a notch in my opinion, though--draws the eye around the model.
I am excited to see what they look like with the blue on the gauntlets!

I would recommend painting the OSL first. They try the hazard stripes on the power cord. If it's too much, you can always re-paint it a solid color... but then you'll know for sure.

Looking good. Where do you get the bases? They look pre-made. I bought some of the GW 40k themed Imperial bases this summer. Very cool, but pretty danged expensive.

CHeers guys.
I'm not 100% sure but I think the base is from Dark Art Miniatures.
The head is Ramshackle and the arm is from Titan Forge, Metalbeard Kickstarter.

Did you back the Titan Forge Metalbeard Kickstarters I missed out on that one and you're cutting them up
Hey sorry to detract but have you any pics of the actual models I am wondering how they look in the flesh so to speak ?
Now back to topic that is some clever combining of pieces, it really works well IMHO I was trying to create some kind of bionic troop unit and could not get it right however you have done what I couldn't so well done mate
What have you got planned for the other arm by the way

Thanks a lot. Funny though this glue isn't more expensive than any other here in DK, really enjoy working with the gel stuff.

Cheers. And thanks a lot - works pretty well I think. I'm planning on using these as servitors but figured they could double as tech thralls if I should use the FW codex one day.
Well honestly it's not as much cutting them up as just not gluing them together Actually I mostly bought the various bits/extra sets, got only a few bodies, but they forgot to pack those, so I'm waiting for an extra delivery. So for pics you have to wait a bit - but cool bits a fine casting. A little flash but easily removed. I'm planning on kitting them out with various bits for arms so I think it will be easier to show a little later than to tell.

Had a few requests elsewhere about the parts used, so here is the full breakdown.
Heads are from Ramshackle Games and torsos are from Blight Wheel miniatures, legs from Anvil Industry. Bases are from Dark Art Studios ( I think). Extra bits on backpacks - Zinge Industries.
Buzz saw servitor: Buzz saw from Puppetswar, other arm - GW catachan. GS power cord.
Gun Servitor: Arm and gun are from Titan Forge, their Metal Beard Kickstarter. Flesh arm from Anvil Industry. 1 and 2 mm plastic rod.

I like the arm--I think it's from a Crypt Ghoul, yes?
Looks very "recycled" which fits in with the fluff, in my opinion.
Hey, I am still wondering about those bases--where are they from? They're really cool.
