Hey! Occasionally I actually do fully finish some of my projects! Over the Fourth of July weekend, I managed to complete my Hazmat team, both Al-Waziri, my Santiago Knight, my Dwarf power armor, my FCC Liaison, and my West Wind Germans. I haven't photographed all of them just yet, but I'll share the ones I did take pictures of.

Al Waziri #2

Al Waziri action shot

FCC Liaison

If you zoom in on the pic, you can see how his gun was miscast.

my completed Hazmat team

my finished Santiago Knight in Hospitaller colors

and lastly, survivor McKenzie, whose face was very hard to paint.

And here's the rest from that batch.

My Brokkr Power Armor/Mining Suit

and my two German gunners

I tried to give the eyes on their masks a glowing effect. I'm not sure how successful it was. I'll be applying the same technique to the One Man Army as well.

Lastly, I finally got around to painting up the pilot for my Anaconda. The picture makes her looks really blotchy and the paint looks very thick. I didn't think it looked that bad in person though.

I'm not sure if I want to dunk her in the Simple Green or not. I'm kind of leaning towards tossing her in and starting over.

Sweet batch of minis dude! Al wazira or whatever it is all look cool, as well as McKenzie. Hazmat dudes look amazing, it's just the perfect blend of orange and blue, and the face shields are very well done.

The knight looks solid and the freehand is pretty sharp, colors are a good fit too.

Glowey eyed Germans look good as well, and i like the mining suit. Looks like we're going to have dueling yellow/orange dwarf schemes

I don't think the pilot looks bad, looks just ripe for a dip fix, but if you aren't happy with her then simple green away.

Nice stuff! Hopefully i can blast some models out at such a pace come winter

Yeah, I think I'll toss her into the Simple Green. But, I'll do that tomorrow. My main goal this week is to work through my Valonian Infantry and get them all done by Friday. After that, I can go back to working on Infinity and Urban War and other junk.

To that end, I actually got three more of my Valonian Infantry finished today! One more guy to go now.

I don't know why, but that guy with the closed visor is wearing different armor. I'm guessing he's supposed to be carrying an HMG. His weapon seems a lot bulkier, so I'm just going to assume he's some sort of specialist.

Those are some weird little dudes.

Or big dudes, since they're rather tall.

Those are the Starship Troopers 'Skinnies' right?

Yeah, they're the Skinnies from Starsip Troopers originally. I think they're one of the few cases where having them on 30mm bases works a lot better than 25mm ones. They're pretty big for basic infantry.

Some real nice stuff since I've seen this blog last. I have to add my voice to those who love those HAZMAT guys, and I'm also rather partial to those Germans and the infinity guys in camo. Haqqislam? Either way, they look good - I'm a big fan of camo at this scale.

Thanks guys.

Well, if you like Weird War II Germans, you're in luck. I'm trying to limit my miniature purchases to one purchase a month (hopefully). I just placed an order with FRP for a Tomcat, a Sogarat, a set of four German Infantrymen, and an Urban War Syntha 'bot. I've also got an Orc Trooper (shotgun) and a Bashi Bazouk sitting on my desk. Once I'm through the Valonians, it's back to Infinity.

Those skinnies kind of wig me out, but the atmospheric shots with the hazmat team... just plain lovely. Makes me want to get my land speeder storm painted up for use in similar roles.

So, is the Valonians wigging you out a good thing or a bad thing?

I know I was supposed to wait on starting the Infinity stuff until I'd finished the Valonians, but I just couldn't help myself. I busted open the Corregidor boxed set I got on my birthday and finally started work on their Lieutenant.

I was really worried that I wouldn't be able to pull off the color scheme I wanted effectively due to how small and detail heavy this guy is. Until you actually have him in hand, no pictures give you a good idea of just how small and how fine the details on him are. Thankfully, I think he turned out alright. I'd wanted the mask on his helmet to be a brighter red, but this is fine, I think. Speaking of his head, I had to do a little modding on him. He is normally looking up and to his left. I managed to very carefully lop his head off and reposition it AND I managed to do it without actually damaging the collar of his uniform.

I really like the new Intruder design. I think these guys are easily my favorite Corregidor design. I wish there were more than just this one and the sniper (I also wish this one were available outside of the boxed set). I'd like to pick up the sniper at some point and do him up in the same colors, but with a yellow mask.

I think I've also decided, I'm going to paint the newer Nomads units in these colors, and the older ones in the blue scheme. Next Nomad after this guy is a Hellcat and eventually a Tomcat.

here's how he looks alongside my only other completed figure in my 150pt. Corregidor list.

Well i mean your paint job is nice, i'm just not sure what to think of the models themselves. They're very large, it's difficult to resolve, they're what 10 feet tall almost? Or at least 8, i'm unfamiliar with what they actually are so that may be part of my unease, they just creep my out standing next to normal people, like their hands or mouths are big enough to smush up someone's noggin, creepy.

You've got a really interesting nomad scheme going. The colors make them look like they've been assigned to some kind of forested area, or at least somewhere greener than a space ship, and it totally works for them. Especially for corregidor, since their main export is manpower.

I kind of want to paint one of those now, but i'm far more likely to get the bakunin substitue which i believe is the prowler. I do like the fluff for the intruders though, they send one down with the workers incognito so he can watch out for them and bail them (or train them into a militia to wait for the cavalry) out if anti-nomad sentiments reach the breaking point at their location. Plus they sneak around and gak dudes, what's not to love!

California

Ah, I see what you mean. Yeah, I suppose they are kind of creepy in that regard.

I say go ahead and grab yourself a couple Corregidor figures. You know you want some. Not that the Prowlers aren't cool looking, but the Intruders are just bad ass.

And yeah, I was going for a woodland theme with them. I'd come across one of the guys on the official forums who had done basically the same color scheme and they looked great, so I figured I'd give it a try and see how it turns out. I really like how it looks. Nomads don't always have to be in bright red and white "shoot me" colors.

Yeah the scheme works well.

I'm not sure it's possible, but i may have too many infinity figures right now. I've got like 23 and only 3 of them painted, and i'm staring down the barrel of 15-18 more from operation icestorm and extras at gencon... and i haven't even got a TAG yet, that's bound to happen sooner or later! 40 models i want to spend extra time painting? That's kind of scary.

Plus i did that Moran, he's corregidor

I got a few more figures done for my Corregidor forces. I decided to go ahead and do the Hellcat from the Corregidor box up in the woodland colors even though she wasn't the one I was actually intending to use in my list. I also received my Antenociti's Workshop NRF trio of troops who will be my Counts-as Alguaciles.

The guy on the left actually turned out to have an LMG. I thought I was getting three rifles. Oh well, I'll just have to pretend it's a regular rifle instead.

It's looking like I'm going to have to do some house sitting for my parents again next month. So, they're going to be paying me in Infinity minis. Since they're normally way more than I want to pay for their size, I've talked them into getting me a Shasvastii Sphinx. That one I'm getting for sure since it showed up over the weekend. I'll hold off on him until August though. It looks like I may also be able to work in another boxed set of some sort. I'm leaning towards either an Iguana or the MAF box set. Probably the Iguana though. One can never have too many TAGs. So, it's looking like August will be TAG month for me.

Hmm, go for a lump sum payment, get the Icestorm box

Seeing a nomad in green and brown is unique. A good idea too.

Eh, I was planning on buying Icestorm anyway. Hopefully I can split it with someone.

I don't quite hate the existing Alguaciles. I just don't think that they fit visually all that well with the new Nomads designs. When I get Icestorm, I'll probably put them in matching greens and browns.

Tonight I have something a little.... different? Gladiators. Yep. Sci-fi gladiators. There's something totally silly, yet awesome about the Junkers Gladiators from Urban War. I think I need to beef up my wacky Roman forces a bit more. I need some gorilla gladiators at the very least to add to this faction. Pig gladiators, too.

Anyway, I've shown this figure before, but I actually finished her up.

Apparently she's armed with a shock lance and a net launcher. I think she could be fun in SOBH.

And then there's this guy.

Gladiators in exo-suits. Yeah, that's pretty damn wacky. But let's just throw in a chain gun into the mix as well for that extra dose of silly.

You gotta get those gorillas painted up.

I already up and ordered some of the dino stuff made by the same company. Wouldn't surprise me if I get mine painted before you too!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I don't have the gorillas yet. Just a chimp. I working on him though. Keep your pants on.

Speaking of monkies though, I did get my Sogarat today. And I've already got him nearly finished. BEHOLD!!

I decided since he's a badass, I'd change the red markings that the other Morats had into yellow. And, I'll be doing his lights in green.

And I've got a Bashi Bazouk. She's hard to photograph.

That gun is pretty big and totally covers her up. I'll post more pics of her after she (eventually) gets dipped.

Well, I may be able to churn stuff out quickly, but keep in mind that I'm also only going for tabletop quality. If I had the skill and patience to put out high quality paintjobs, I wouldn't be doing this nearly so fast.

I spoke with my dad yesterday, and it turns out that I will have extra house sitting to do next month, so he confirmed that he will get the Iguana for me. So, yeah, next month is TAG month.

Tonight, I got some more stuff done.

For instance, I actually painted and attached the Sogarat's arm.

I also painted a robot I got in the mail yesterday.

This is a Pointman Heavy Androsynth from the Syntha faction in Urban War. These robots are so damn guly and asymmetrical, but I can't help but like a lot of them. This guy is kind of weirdly posed, which makes getting all of him in shot without making him look weird kin of a chore.

I also have a second Heavy Androsynth, the Prometheus II, which has been sitting around in a semi painted/semi chipped up state.

I need to get around to finishing that guy. They're actually pretty well sized, even the Prometheus despite being so spindly.

I suppose if I wanted to, I could have them go toe-to-toe with a TAG. I've been needing some heavier hitters and they'll fit the bill quite nicely.

As for their colors, I kind of like the idea that they're former construction/industrial robots that have gone rogue. I purchased the Mechanites from Mantic's latest Dreadball KS and they'll probably wind up with similar colors. I think having a rogue robot faction could be kind of fun.

And for Tambulaine, I did indeed finish my chimp Caesar.

Table top is about all i can come up with too.

Those robots are creepy in a good way, their curves and proportions... seem to just cast them as alien and default badguys for sure, but that isn't a bad thing at all.

I like the colors, just watch out, if you bring out too many rogue robots, i'll have to sick the Knight Sabers on you!

Looking forward to your iguana, it's a really sexy tag. I would like to get one.. but i'm thinking i may have to get the lizard first out of respect to my primary faction

I'm enjoying the muted, no nonsense look of the Nomads. Especially compared to the usual Nomad color schemes. Not to say I don't love bright and colorful.

Your Hellcat might be my new favorite Infinity model that you've painted. She looks good.

Workin' on some Doge. Much work, such color. Wow.

I love the Stim Hound figures. I thought for these two, I'd try going for more of a wolf/husky look on the guy on the left. Looking at him now though, he's kind of reminding me of Gin from Ginga Nagareboshi Gin. Hmm. Maybe I ought to add a trio of scars to his forhead?

Doge on the right was the one that was formerly that oragnish color. I thought I'd try again with a more subdued scheme on him. Now I'm happy with it. One more dog to go and then I can do their basing and call them finished.

I also started working on my Nomad Tomcat.

I'm just using the white on the helmet and light-up parts for now. I'll be using a fluo red over those bits once he's be dipped & dull coated.

But was interests me much more is the further outcome of this alternate paint scheme of the Tomcat.

Well Pfibp, you're in luck because I've got him fully assembled now.

Has a mishap with him this morning as I was doing a few highlights. I wound up dropping him twice, busting both arms off. Surprisingly, the only scratching that occurred was on the cuff of his left arm's sleeve. So, you can see how it's a little rough were the join on his left arm is.

You know, one element to this figure I never noticed from the stock photos is the fact that these guys have poofy sleeves. Their sleeves flare out just past the elbows and it winds up looking a little silly. I wonder how I never noticed that about these guys before?

I am not that well versed on a lot of miniature ranges so this blog really helps to highlight the amount of awesome stuff out there from so many different companies. Love the Hazmat team, and you seem to have done a great rescue job on the "injured" Tomcat.

Wow dropping a dragoe, huh, CC? That sounds rough what with the fancy doohikies they've got hanging off, like the big belt fed gun and such. ouch.
