Sorry to gum up the works with more ogre threads, but in this one I wanted to discuss magic item build with the upcoming book and get some input.
Tyrant: To put it bluntly my tyrant from before is dead. I took Tenderiser, Wyrdstone Necklace, Gut Plate and heavy armor to deal with enemy lords. In my community this is kinda a big thing as I regularly see chaos and bret lords and I have to smash their head so far between shoulders that they wipe their forehead on the loo. So now I need to come up with a new way of dealing with this. The items they kept in the book are obscenely expensive so they're right out. I'm planning on taking beasts to supplement my Maw spells so I can try to get Savage beast off and make back a lot of item points. So I'm thinking I run either fencing blades or the ASF weapon. For my armor I'm kinda torn between the new gut plate and a talisman of ward save or just get the armor with the ward save and perhaps an ironfist depending on weapon. BUT the problem I see is I become incredibly reliant on my magic phase for my power. Also running him with the ironcurse icon to try and save his unit from cannons.
Slaughtermaster: This guy I'm thinking run simply with the hellheart and maybe theifstone or ward talisman and make him my Maw caster.
Butchers: 2 lvl 2 beasts. One with dispel scroll and the other the with the sickle.
Bruisiers: I love how cheap they are now and I may have to bring one to fight with for once not just for BSB. I've never really designed a 50point melee hero, any suggestions?
Hunters: They're better, but not sure what I'm going to do with him. I'm thinking beast slayer and giant breaker or longstrider and run him with his kitties with harpoon to harass monsters.

Tyrants are tricky since everything they used to love got pretty pricy. Giantbreaker is probably pretty good on him and probably the Talisman of Preservation if he is jumping on Lords to challenge. After that it's just whatever weapon you want him to have.
You seem to have the right idea for the casters.
The bruiser works pretty well with just his impressive statline. Just give him a few cheap items to boost his survivability for the most part(Enchanted/Charmed shield, Dragonhelm). Although some of the cheaper magic weapons would not go amiss(Gold Sigil Sword, Striking sword).
I plan on running my Hunter with Beastkiller, Tal of Endurance, and a Great Weapon along with 4 cats. Don't take the Harpoon since it's move or shoot. The spears are just fine.

for a fighty Bruiser I have been thinking about Talisman of Endurance, HA, Ironfist, and Sword of battle. 158 points of just killy. 4+ armor, 5+ ward, and 5 Str5 magical attacks.

@Tzeentch: But in terms of ranged weapon, I want to put the hurt on giants and such quick. With the vanguard move I should be able to get into position then get a shot or two before they can close with anything. Or do you think I should just have the hunter and his kitties rush something?

I've been running my Tyrant with great weapon, heavy armour, crown of command and talisman of endurance and i've bashed in a chaos lord of khorne fully kitted out and a supreme sorceress (granted she's not that impressive but i've only run the new ogres in two games against WOC and dark elves and both times he has battered the generals without dying and he comes in at 292 points which isn't too overly priced at all
