The best I have seen so far is Triple Heilix Wargames who offer 10% of games of war and free shipping but you pay shipping for everything else but you get a massive 20% off. I looked and to ship a Tau battleforce to my house it only costs £0.99 and is on £48 to buy. So £48.99 for a battle force ain't bad. Amazon also you can get crackin' deals on their.

Triple Helix for me too, they are about 40 min drive away from me so dropped into their for their 1 year birthday bash, got a guided tour of the facilities and a warm welcome plus they had a 20% discount running for September and October so picked up a fair amount.

Yep you are correct store prices are 20% off but web prices are 25% off RRP.

I would also like to add a +1 for Darksphere.

Their customer service is excellent and I have yet to find anywhere that can beat them on price.

Their store at London's Waterloo is also fantastic, especially now they process their online sales a few doors down and have sorted the shop out.

They have an outstanding array of stock, carry more GW stuff than my local GW, and stock lots of cool scenery such as Battlefield in a Box, Maxmini etc, bases such as Scibor and modelling supplies and paint (Citadel, Vallejo, P3 etc).

Add to that 20% off in store and 25% online and they really stack up as my favourite.

My only criticism would be that I'm not a huge fan of their website, but that may just be me.

I would give them 38 out of 40, just because I wouldn't ever give top marks, but they come close, easily the best games store in London at any rate.

I would also recommend getting it from the shop if you can because after delivery costs it works out to a lot less than 25% on certain items but it's still better than other sites.

Yeah +1 for Dark Sphere, although it's only worth it if you're spending more than £20 for me, as the postage often brings things like single models or unit boxes in line with GW's costs (the same can be said for most retailers). I've used Wayland, Giftsforgeeks and am trying Totalwargamer with the 'cron Codex (who have between 15-22% off).

If I was buying a whole army in one go (a guy can but dream) then it would be Dark Sphere for sure. TBH they're all good, I've had no problems and the money savings between them all is marginal when you factor in different postage costs.

Out of interest, has anyone been to the store 'Cut and Thrust Wargaming' in Bristol?

I believe it may be a new store, aren't too many independents around in the south west I would definitely be interested in a visit when I go back to the UK.

I would say Dark Sphere as well. Easy to deal with and quick to help you out if you're in a pickle with your order. Also they carry a lot of third party stock which enhances my 40k armies.

I ordered some items from Darksphere, received confirmation and then heard nothing for two weeks. I phoned them up, was given quite a curt response which felt wholly like a brushoff, and then had an email immediately after (4:10pm) saying "Item has been dispatched".

It came the next morning.

See, now I know this, I can just ring them, get the curt phonecall thing, on the day I order and get it next day.

Still no clue why that happened, to not send it for two weeks, then the moment I call it's immediately here, but still, good price, service was fine when I checked up on it and delivery was prompt... when I checked up on it.

Sort of this. Not a fan of Darksphere as it is the only place where anyone has had the poor sense to up sell me on a visit there. From three of them fawning over two girl that where in there at the same time about how hardcore/competitive their MTG toury was, to the bearded oaf that talked not stop for about 20 minutes to the side of my head despite being told that I was just browsing and was happily boasting that now one liked him at his old scene as he was too WAAC, they all came across as a bit odd. The chimp didn't event know the stock he was trying to sell me. Their stock also isn't priced and they do not give you an itemised receipt. I'm not entirely sure that I got that much of a discount. I'm sure they are fine online, but I couldn't locate half the items I purchased to check. over

On the other hand I can't praise Wayland Games enough. Nice fellers there when I have visited and dish out free stuff and extra discounts on occasion too. The stock held in their warehouse seems extensive too.

There are others Gifts for Geeks are cheap, Maelstrom are good for things I don't mind waiting on.

I'm also curious about Cut and Trust wargaming, last I checked their website wasn't running/updated? Seemed like a cool place when the opened their doors but never really saw anything about them afterwards?

Hi StraightSilver, we've got a rolling program of upgrades on the website (latest one should be going live in the next few days). Any suggestions for how to improve the site are always welcomed and considered (we want to get those final 2 marks! :p).

MrDwhitey - I'm very sorry if a member of staff was curt with you, I think I know which member of staff you're referring to (it's also the one that NotProp mentioned). He was brought on board for a short period of time to free up staff to set up the new gaming venue. Now that's up and running, I'm very happy with the staff that we currently have on the shop floor and you should find them friendly and helpful but not pushy or overbearing!

Cut and Thrust is a great store, run by a couple of genuine hobby vets. It has a very chilled out, friendly adult atmosphere (almost a complete opposite to Bristols GW).The ground floor is a shop, stocking most of the popular systems the next two floors are just gaming tables with all types of terrain and scenery. I would highly recommend anyone in the SW to give it a look, you won’t be disappointed.

Dark Sphere are pretty good. I had an issue with them last xmas over something that was missing from my order but it was promptly resolved.

I am not really a fan of the site, have never been to the shop but might check it out at some point.
