GCSE's the bane of my current life. Not because they're difficult but because they're so vague and are a bit of a washout.
I've not been Schooled for Five years, and I'm breezing through them. My class attendance is about four percent of all Lessons and I've not gone for a good Four months now. I've done no revision or Schoolwork, and yet I still achieve A* which is Ninety five percent or higher.
They're a total washout. Has anyone else had the same issues with their kids or themselves?
Just on a side note, I do have High functioning Autism which is what Einstien and people of that Ilk had. I thankfully don't have the drawbacks of lack of social skills being a very social person. I am a stubborn got though.
Anyway this isn't about me. What are your thoughts.
Would IQ's also be said, It adds a bit more to each post.
Thanks again.

IQ is a pretty outdated and flawed method of evaluating someone's intelligence... or so i'm told. A level tends to go very in depth on subjects...

I know. But I was told GCSE's were hard. They weren't.
Is it going to be the same for A Levels?
How is an IQ test flawed. It's meant as an Indication of Intellectual capacity not as they scored well they're super smart. You can get used to IQ type questions and cheat. Your first IQ test is the one you go by.
The Puzzles with the Red and white cube are great fun. Thats what got me a good score. Finishing one that takes 6 Mins in 15 Seconds. Spacial ability is where I excell. So I hope it equates into parking.
I heard EQ hold more substance now. I score badly on ththem but I've got my reasons. Automatically Appended Next Post: alarmingrick wrote:InquisitorVaron wrote:If It helps my IQ is 145+

A levels are very in-depth. You might find them easy if that's your thing but you can very easily see the difference between techniques used in various subjects so they need the developement and application of these skills. IQ examines paticular aspects of a persons intelligence. It doesn't take everything into account. It's a good indicator but not perfect.

Considering I should've taken 16 GCSE's in Year 9. Then gone onto AS then A Levels. So Mathematically since I can take 4 A Levels that's a Division of Four which is the same as going up to a Degree four into one.
So effectively It's only four times more submersive and engaging. I worry thats not enough. Oh well mabye degrees might be engaging.
Sorry we don't serve Neutrinos.
A Neutrino walks into a Bar.
That's the Ultimate topic at the moment mabye I might try and disprove the fast than light theory. Seems quite easy to disprove yet everyone has failed so far. Personally I think Its system callibration, the margin is minute.
Anyway I digress.

Oh you've reagined my meagre respect.
My family complain that I don't get full marks and that I do no work. Thats the only flaw.
Out of Ingest what was that subject? Photography RE Philosophy and Ethics? Psychology? Even though I see the last one as very Intresting. The Zimbardo experiment was quite worrying. Reminds me of my current boarding school though.

Communications and Culture...
According to the Daily Mail it's 'a lesson in texting'
Psychology is a real subject and anyone that says it isn't would probably be heckled back to the stone age...

I had to write a 1500 word essay on cultural (or otherwise) narratives and identity whilst using at least 2 of 4 perspectives that we had learnt. (Marxism, Post-colonialism, post-feminism and Free Market thinking) I then had to do an 8 minute presentation on the same subject but exploring a different area.

It's no Physics but It's a lot more than Texting.
Its also how It equates into real life terms, so what career options does that open or what Degree courses?
Genetic Modification intrests me, as does Law Mathematics and Latin.

It opens onto degree but in career terms it can be anything from PR to sociology and other affiliated fields. Genetic modification is an interesting one... found it hard to get my head round personally but go figure.

Pretty much this.
Also, teachers spend an age trying to hammer into the kids how hard GCSE's are because in reality, if they told the truth and said 'yeah, they're pretty easy really' , then a lot more kids would end up failing. Reverse psychology, you know. But to reiterate, if you think that you will be able to breeze through A-Levels and more importantly, a university degree in the same manner, then you are in for a short, sharp shock, regardless of intelligence.

You can't really do genetic modification as a degree or even touch it at undergraduate level. You can do a biology degree in genetics and then try to find a postgraduate course in which you will be able to work on genetically modified organisms. GCSEs are getting easier but A-levels not so much, meaning the gap between them is growing and making the step up ever larger. I found that you could hardly afford to take a day off at A-level let alone a week for illness, you'd be left behind. The step up in Maths was significant, everyone in my class had an A minimum at GCSE but this still resulted in a range of marks from A to fail at A-level. People with a B or C at GCSE maths wouldn't have a hope IMO (unless there were extenuating circumstances for them having an unusually low GCSE mark for their ability, eg illness).

I only attended 4% of my lessons and now I'm on the sex offenders register and the local children post dog gak through my letterbox.
Not really, but one case shouldn't be indicative of you know.. life in general.
4% Is less than feth all. I got As in English literature and Language, and I went to 99% of lessons but did feth all revision or homework, so I agree they aren't that difficult, but 4% ain't 99%
It does sound like idle bragging to be frank, no matter how smart you are, you cant know everything in the paper off the top of your head if you only went to 4 out of every 100 lessons.

It's important to attend lessons, as you can learn such vital skills as basic grammar and spelling. You'll need them to post about how intelligent you are on wargaming sites.
That is, if you don't want to look like a foolish and precocious child.
