Well, they are supposed to be modern day Survivors and, well, at least here in the US they represent at least 30% of the population, if not more.

At least the survivor boxes are priced low enough to not be a bitch about it, but what am I supposed to do with three fat slobs who can only use one or two sets of arms?

Or 3 kids

Other than making some creepy psyker battle squads of course

Do you think kits like the survivors should be sold as single sprues, or that significantly varying body types (obese people, kids) not be included in the kit if it has 24 figures?

As is, the box is better off being sold as a two sprue box: One survivor sprue and the extra weapon / arm sprue one. I'm stuck with two full sprues of survivors that I'm going to give away or hand out because I've more or less gotten all the variety out of the contents with just those two sprues.

I'll take those survivors if you don't want them. There is a lot that can be done even with the limited poses and options in the box.

Sorry, I don't ship to the US, too expensive and too much hassle.

Thanks for clarifying- I didn't mean to leave out the weapon/arms sprue

The weapon sprue is a nice touch, it comes with at least one extra set of arms for each survivor torso, plus a buttload of extra guns, chainsaws and bibles, it's great for other conversions at the very least. I managed to turn a few Warlord USMC plastics into movie-Marines with those spare M16's.

Speaking of spare bits and steering it back towards Dreamforge, what do you guys do with the spare shoulder plates you get left over from your left arm / right arm configuration?

I don't know if most people would agree with you there. I certainly agree about the lack of interchangeability, but I think most people wouldn't have bought the box if it was just two sprues (unless maybe it was half the price). I think the real solution is likely just making individual sprues available for a premium from the webstore.

Yeah, halving the number of figures in the box is a GW style move. Unless the price would be halved (and it wouldn't be), then I'd rather have the full set and more opportunities to kitbash and customise. I don't need to use every part of every figure right away. Little kids are perfect for horror scenario baddies, anyway.

Right, those things. Biceps, shoulder, it's all somewhere on the arm.

Oh, you're talking about the Leviathans. I was thinking of the stormtroopers.

I can't remember what I did with those. I hope I still have them, somewhere. Could be useful (said the pack rat).

Not much- I think they're quite eager to have this finished. They finally got the Secret Weapon campaign millstone off their neck, and I think it will be this then Kingdom Death to finish. And then hopefully some normal, non-Kickstarter-based business!

I think you're projecting there.

Mark has relayed as much, as has Justin of Secret Weapon... so, no, I don't think I am.

It's also been stated that WGF isn't taking any more Kickstarter jobs... there can only be one reason for that, they've been a bit insane in terms of the headaches they've caused due to the rushed timelines / unprepared creators, and their name is out there so much now that they don't need to take that business anymore. Getting it done and moving on is of course something they're pushing for, from all indications we've seen.

Edit: Also, I haven't timed the updates but it seems to me that we've had a bit of a rush of progress on this campaign from the chart Mark has shown. Personally, I think it would be bad for their reputation for WGF to finish Kingdom Death before Dreamforge, given how much earlier this one started, and Kingdom Death is getting impatient as their latest update shows. So, Dreamforge needs to get done! And it looks like it is going to be on a boat sometime this fall, which is much more than I had expected given the rate of progress earlier this year!

I plan to use one of those plates to decorate the base of a Knight Errant, I got three spares lying about, more than enough fodder for trying out melta blast effects.

I haven't been following this thread well. Was it ever decided if the female storm troopers would be the same size as the men or not?

Just a FYI, which is somewhat pertinent since there was all that discussion about October fulfilment.

This week and the start of next week (Oct 1-6) is the Chinese National Day Holiday Golden Week. Which means China is shut down right now until next Tuesday.

Pretty sure they're a tad more feminine. Nowhere near the extent of raging heroes, more just rebalanced armour and a tad shorter iirc. There was a poll for whether we preferred them being more feminine (ie. smaller) or more comaptible with the male stormtrooper range. I think compatibility won out.

My thoughts are the backpacks are stored in the doors above their heads plugged into a re-charger slot

Wow. Looking good. Amazing that somehow other companies can't for the life of them put out decent sprues, but DFG with a bit of time manages to spend time/money tooling what looks to be the best vehicle interior kit ever in the history of kits. What plastic opulence. My hat is off.

DFG abd WGF consistently putting out amazing plastics. You'd almost hope WGF do a kickstarter purely to fund an increase in production capacity. If I could get a 50% discount on product for a year or 3 (or something to that effect) I'd probably do it. Probably not that simple though ; p

Adding the usual: Please let us increase our pledge for wave 3 Mark ; p I need like... 16 of these because reasons.

Dreamforge is really impressive. Seem to be the only company that can give multipart plastic kits of similar quality than GW (AOW is the other one, though afaik, they no longer do HIPS kits). It's a crying shame that they cant speed up their release rate, cause if they did, they could give GW a run for theur money.
