Hello Dakka!

We ran a quick Badlands campaign out here over the last month and a half, and for the painting prize we're opening the field to the larger community. Ghorgon would be ace once the base is finished. Orc looks pretty 'Ard, but he's really shiny and could use a coat of dullcoate. As is, had to vote for the Sphinx since it looks good and looks the most ready for the table.

I like the eyes on the Ghorgon. I love the armor on the Sphinx. Love the basing and skin tone on the orc.

From what i can see, the Warsphinx is the best, IMHO.
That said, they are all great!

Warsphinx for sure, but I don't see how you can have an orc in a competition against the two other entries. I'm not sure how big the Ghorgon is but it looks somewhere in between the two. I think the warsphinx is the clear winner strictly because it has a lot to it and its all done pretty well. There just isn't much to the paint jobs of the other two because of the difference in detail.

This is our first try at a online vote type of contest for the painting award; it looks like when we do this for the next round of 40k and WHFB campaigns in January then we may have to break into categories.

The Orc has it for me. I have a huge soft spot for Mantics Orcs and that is such a great mini.
I can practically hear the bellow and smell his breath! I think that Mantics Orcs top GW's 8/10 times.
Regardless, they are all great mini's.

I wil vote on sphynx due to:

Orc warboss is glossy. That count a lot of points less, even when it looks cool.

Ghorgon looks great, but it is not completed, i mean, why not basing it? Even a flock of sand could make the model stand a lot more...

Them, we got the sphynx, with a great paintjob on the skin/bones, and that super colored armor. Sphynx to the win...

I agree that the warsphinx is the best here. It seems to have far more detail and is the most interesting as far as the painting is concerned.
